And why is it a red please explain because you must be a expert on the rules seems like a lot of people are disagreeing with you so I'd like to hear this? And ok pal if you say so lunny has been 10x the player fleck has been this season but let's just use scapegoat lunny to blame everything on. He is the reason we are only on one point 👍

It depends if you watch other games in the prem.

Taking the ball and following through while your body is out of control is a 100% red card these days.

The people that are disagreeing don't want to see it being a red card, but VAR is now very consistent when a player follows through and endangers another player, even if he gets some of the ball first.

I don't like it and others don't like, but I simply don't understand you and others thinking it's not a red card.

It's how the games are referred now. The ref GAVE a yellow knowing that if he had miss seen a follow through then VAR would pick it up - which it did.

The fact the game didn't used to be played that way is immaterial to FIFA/UEFA who make the rules. They have after all TOLD the Premier league to change how they use VAR this season as it wan't in line with the rest of Europe.

It's the way it is.

Grudgingly it was a red that the ref got right (eventually). That said, seen them not given before and no doubt will again. However other than that, thought the ref was crap. I'm still fuming over him failing to play advantage in the most obvious example of when to play advantage. And when he blew the whistle for half time.

Frankly i was surprised he didn't try and find a way to give them a penalty for the Osborn tackle, he seemed determined.

The difference with Lunny is he went off his feet and followed through - if he'd stayed up, then the yellow would probably have stayed as it was.

It was in truth poor ball control by Lunny in the first place that got away from him.

You could see Lundstrum put extra force into the tackle cause he is brain dead. I can't see any Prem teams coming in for him

It’s a Red all day long, not even in doubt, I would bin him now, Midfield 3 for Everton Bogle Norwood Fleck

when he blew the whistle for half time.

I saw nothing wrong with that. Fucking Baldock took the ball into a blind alley instead of just putting it in the box. We moved have known he was about to blow. He wasn't attacking he was just stood there shielding the ball.

Looks like an ankle breaker from the clips ive seen, this type of tackle which he prefers is always going to attract the Ref's attention.

Someone should him some clips of how to tackle an opponent and win the ball, those like me who had the pleasure of watching Len badger will know what i'm on about, those who dont, well Happy Easter.

He's cost us time and again this year and thinks he's better than us when in reality it was only cause Fantasy premier league put him as a defender last season that he got any recognition at all

A couple of years ago it's a yellow at most. Regularly received similar at weekends without even a foul given.

You might as well stop slide tackling entirely really, as there's no way to avoid most follow throughs without making the tackle even more dangerous.

If the Brighton man is interested in winning the ball rather than anticipating falling to the floor as they did throughout, it doesn't happen.

If the VAR replays look at it real speed, rather than slow mo, it doesn't happen.

Then again, better first touch and it doesn't happen.

Why does VAR need to get involved ,the ref was close and had full view in real time. Jordan Henderson does that ,Michael fucking Oliver keeps his gob shut and the teenage ref says sorry to him for a yellow card.

Because the match director says so.

Commentary, replays and VAR all designed for click bait, attention seeking, armchair interest, bollocks.

The game is popular because it has enough talking points without it. Twats.

Never a red, but he needs to think and not put himself in that position.

But then if he didn't go for the ball, they get it and score you'd be on here saying he's not committed to the team.

Can't win.

WBA game 39 mins *why isn't the Villa player off" worse than Lunnys IMO. (WBA already a man down as well)

It's a red, which says more about the current rules and VAR than it does about Lundstram. It is barely a yellow card pre-VAR, it is barely a yellow card in the current championship. People argue that VAR is needed to get the decision and rule interpretation right, what has actually happened is that the rules and decisions have been changed to make VAR right.

Maybe, no and no. Bogle give him a chance, Norwood become lazy and Fleck has given up. As for the midfield best game, oh boy are we in trouble. Maybe Osborn ball winner, Bogle and Burke wide and McGoldrick as play maker. Thin, but what options do we have?
