Stoke vs Blades October 73. My first away game , won 2 -1.
Bolton August 2018. My youngest first away, won 3 - 0 and bossed it start to finish. Fleck WOW!

Bristol rovers 0 Blades 0 in the promotion season. My lad was mascot and got to meet all the blades and rovers players. Only gutted that billy was on the bench so didn’t lead the team out with my boy. Wilder was so kind and welcoming to him.

My lasting memory from that was being in the beer garden of a pub/WMC type place near the ground where it was £1 to get in.
Later on, Superman (might have been Batman) came hurtling over the 8ft wall to a chorus of "You tight bastard".

So many good ones there. But for me ; Revenge of Bouncing Day. Was there for original one and got so much stick after .
I knew it was going to be a good day; nice warm sunny morning; hip flask full. Arrived at The Sty looking for somewhere to park ; we turned into a side street after coming down Hillsborough Hill from Barnsley, came to a dead end with stewards turning cars around , think it was some police club for members only. Doing 3 point turn, knock knock on side window, ""you Blades" ; " Er yes "." Park it there in that space" . The rest as they say is history.

The Leeds 4-0 for the 90 minutes, but I drove so it wasn’t fun.

Norwich away last year as it was my son's first away game.

For the day out it would be Newcastle away last time in the PL, first away win, can hardly remember the game but the day was good.

I don't get to many away games and have missed many of the 'famous' ones over the years.

For the occasion, it would have to be the Hull semi final which we lost but how proud they made us that day and we scored 3 times... at Wembley. Great day out too, started with breakfast at The Met Spoons next to Euston station and had a few drinks with my relatives in the Novotel on Wembley Way.

Really enjoyed Preston away in the promotion season when Didzy scored the winner. Had a great view right behind the goal about halfway up and a cracking day out in Chorley.

In last ten years, Northampton away is pretty special, just for what it meant and some cracking pubs before in the town and then in London afterwards, swinging the champers!

Close was Basham Leeds when we entered the final straight. The stupidity of their entry/searching policy, that corner stand, the Hendo chants and the rain walk back calling in at the home brew bar full of prams smiling wildly.

West Ham last year for the Hackney pubs, Spurs for the Tottenham microbreweries, Brighton for pre match Xmas feeling in Lewes, Man City for the Northern Quarter bars..

. is there a theme developing!

Fairly recent but MK Dons away.

Result never in doubt, a lovely pre-match session in Stoney Stratford (best village ever). The famous photograph of that lad standing on the steel beams with his fist in the air.
The buzz around the club at that time was incredible.

But the one that tops them all for me was 'Forget the Maths...' Jack O'Connell goal against Ipswich.

An unbelievable end to the past 3 seasons. What a contrast to the Walk of Shame after the Scunthorpe game.

If ever the club invested in some iconic banners around the ground (and what better time than these past months) then the

'Basham Arriving',
'Forget the Maths'
'A Stunning Start'
'And that's the way to Answer Back and then Some'

would be my choices.

I missed Leicester 1990 as I was working in Alpha Sports down Woodseats on Saturdays so chose to go to the Blackburn game earlier in the week. Bad decision.

So my choice would be Ipswich in the play off semi final second leg in 1997. Epic. Raucous. Loud. But let’s forget about the final please.

Darlington & Leicester. Incredible days both which I will cherish to my dying day. Fred, our wonderful regular coach driver had decorated the coach with red & white for the Darlington game and there was such a carnival atmosphere. What a journey these two games represented, from 1st division to the 4th and back again.

Darlington. I was 14 & went on the Football Special train. Can’t really remember much about the day - wasn’t pissed, just a long time ago.
I remember the train journey was a bit crazy.

Bouncing Day. Got an unexpected ticket as a treat & got in the ground at 2-0! What happened next was bonkers & made up for me being sat in the same area of the stand 38 years earlier with my dear departed dad.

My best away day was one I wasn't even at.

My family have something of a Pork element, in fact I am pretty much the Black Sheep. Anyway, the day of Leicester away, was also the day of my cousins wedding. Lovely lass but very much a Wednesday fan, as was the groom and most of the family. The church was fairly close to the Wednesday ground, so I had the double delight of our little minority huddled around the radio in one of the wedding cars, and after that the piggies walking home. I was comfortably the happiest person at the wedding.
