Actually don't think most are part-timers, more seem to be Blades who once sat in the Kop or elsewhere but now have kids so have moved into the corner.

And I'd much rather be around those people when we're losing compared to many of the meatheads at the back of the Kop.

I was quite surprised when I checked on-line a couple of weeks ago that a huge chunk of the corner is Season Ticket, in fact I would say probably 75%, maybe more….the atmosphere in there on Saturday was absolutely fantastic and it sounded to us as though we made a lot of noise, (not sure what it sounded like from the Kop) great to hear singing from all 4 sides again and long may it continue.

I've moved up there from the Kop with my ST. Atmosphere felt pretty good on Saturday but I am sat right at the front of the Corner and therefore can't really 'see' the atmosphere as its all going on behind me.

Felt a bit self aware as I kept jumping up to gesticulate towards either the pitch or the away fans (couldn't help myself) and the new people sat directly around me were pretty quiet. Great view though and no sodding posts!
 
We heard the Westfield in the South Stand last Saturday - brilliant.

South Stand central and towards the Kop might chime up before long, I wish!!

Kop was great all game.
 
Just to put a dampener on you Westfield cornerites, all smug-like and lecturing us about the views and the atmosphere. You'll fucking freeze to death in there in winter when you get a north-easterly full-on in yer face. :D

Aye, we saw you - my main problem with your 'flipping the bird' at the Brentford fans was that none of them could either see you or hear you.

So I take it it was for our benefit then?

Talk about futility, we just thought you looked pretty foolish.

There was actually a scoreline of East Fife 4 Forfar 5 about 40 odd years ago. Do you remember when you could predict the score from the tone of the voice of the chap who read them out on the BBC? I never saw this one coming as he was just spluttering it out trying to keep his face straight.

Any football fan could close their eyes and imagine hearing that honeyed, resonant Scots brogue declare the final score.

"East Fife... (downward inflection) 4. Forfar... (upward lilt) 5."

For most of James Alexander Gordon's 40-year career delivering the BBC's classified check, it was the tally you enunciated if you wanted to impersonate his distinctive, much-loved delivery.

In fact, Gordon never announced this fabled scoreline. Now he has retired aged 77 from BBC Radio 5 live after surgery to remove his larynx.

The two clubs, currently both in Scottish football's third tier, have never finished a game thus, although they have come close.

In January 1964 an encounter between them finished tantalisingly near, but the wrong way round - Forfar 5 East Fife 4.

And in October 2011 fans across the country raised their hopes during a clash which finished, disappointingly, East Fife 4 Forfar 3.

The man responsible for popularising the scoreline was legendary comedian Eric Morecambe, who would repeat it when mimicking Gordon.
 



Just out of interest for those who were sat on Westfield, how did the Kop sound? Could you hear much noise coming from it or did it sound quiet?

As I sat on the Kop myself I can vouch for it that the noise & atmosphere was electric, but just wonder how well this carries to the far side. Seen one or two Brentford fans saying they thought it was flat at times. Don't know if this is just out of spite because of the result, or does the noise really not travel well at all?

LOL! Broad shoulders mate! like I say all those years on the kop! it's just my emotions getting the better of me... like I say I thought the fans were all pretty friendly... but you do get to odd one who likes to think they are a cut above ;-)

At times very loud, but I do find that the noise doesn't travel too well from the kop to the away end and corner so I can see why they might say that it sounded flat.
