I've heard a rumour, that were chasing wes brown. He's currently a free agent but has been training at Blackburn.
Anyone else heard anything?
What's your thoughts?
Can we afford his wages?

NO WAY! 36 is far too old for an outfield player, even for League 1. He can have all the experience in the world and have won everything going in the game but that was then. I'd have him in a defensive coaching role but not as a player.

Wow? Wes Brown? Wow? Wes Fucking Brown? Fucking Wow? Wes Fucking Brown?
Did tha ever see that goal he set up for Cristiano Ronaldo..hit a 45 yarder into space which Cristiano scored from. Great long ball togger it was.

37 next month and probably on crazy wages. I suppose we could then waste another transfer window trying to off load him rather than bring new players in.

For all those saying it would be a decent signing, when was the last time you actually saw him play ?
FIFA 09 doesn't count.
37 in just over a months time, played 6 games in last 18 months.
Not for me.
Yep, just another over the hill player (if he actually got up the hill) after one last big pay day ! no thanks

If he's fit then yes, he will be good for Wilson's development. Classy player over the years, CB is a position you can expand your career in.

A definite no from me , at his best he flattered to deceive in a good team.

We maybe bad at the moment but we don't need to make things even worse by signing Wes Brown.

Linked in the paper today if Blackburn don't make him an offer

Could be bullshit. Most likely is but wow. Would be a serious signing even at 36.

Serious mistake signing in my book , even worst at 36 .

Stay clear , in my book we want hard working professionals , not WAG material from the Cheshire set.

Blackburn shite , Brown shite , let us raise above Dynorod .

UTB

If he does join us he will add to the impressive list of Blades players who have won the European Cup/Champions League. Gordon Cowans, Dennis Mortimer, Phil Thompson, Ian Rush. I'm sure there are others.

Brown was shocking a Sunderland. Him and O'Shea at the back were quite frankly a disaster. I know league 1 is considerably lower than the Premier League, but if he did (and very unlikely) end up here, that probably would say it all!

How about wee "Jinking" Jimmy Johnston ex of Celtic fame as a another? The first of them all to win a European Cup winners medal
