None of these names ever existed, it was Mr mate and tom the cabin boy and the creator successfully sued the Guardian for damages , who then subsequently released this statement in 1991 , -We stated that the Captain Pugwash cartoon series featured characters called Seaman Staines and Master Bates, and for that reason the series had never been repeated by the BBC. We accept that it is untrue that there ever were any such characters. Furthermore, the series continues to be shown on television and on video. We apologize to Mr. Ryan, the creator, writer and artist of the Captain Pugwash films and books. We have agreed to pay him damages and his legal costsSeaman Stains and Roger the cabin boy.

Weird one isn't it. If we'd beaten Fleetwood, we would have probably lost 3, 4 or 5-0 to ArsenalWell done deserved win against Artetas lot makes me happy to have lost to them Come on cod army
The co-commentator (Hinchliffe? If so, no surprise) tried to make out that he “left a little bit on” after the tackle (he didn’t) and that Dowman didn’t do much wrong (he did, he kicked him). He then said it was at best a yellow and that the lad is only 16 as if that should let him off! His manager wasn’t as forgiving as he trudged off! He IS a young lad but the red teaches him the lesson he needs to learn. Letting him off wouldn’t really do much good (except, come to think of it, get him used to the leniency reserved for big 6 teams in the Premier league)Imagine how much we'd have disgraced ourselves against Arsenal last night, glad we lost to Fleetwood now!
Also all the furore over Neal's tackle on Dowman is insane aint it, it's a quality tackle (sort of tackle we miss tbf!)
Just the one then ?Sorry. We shouldn't have lost to Fleetwood. Totally unprofessional and shambolic performance. Those players should hang their heads in shame, including Wilder. The buck stops there.
