Learned tonight that 15 year old Warren Clarke started for Wendy in the FA Youth Cup match tonight (drew 4-4 and won on penalties). Warren has been in the same schools as my son since they were toddlers (same class for two or three years) and my son was the captain of the Dronfield Junior team for two years with Warren being in the same team. They also played together for AFC Dronfield u8s and u9s before Warren went to Chesterfield FC (he moved to Wendy about 3 years ago). I was the next door neighbour to Warren's grandparents and his late mum between 1967 and 1977 or 1978. My son and I are delighted for Warren and his family despite Warren being at the wrong club!
 

I'm just glad that we have such cooperative neighbours in S6. It's great that they want to play a part in our success and develop players for us.

The players themselves know that if they do well and break into the Wendy first team, then it's only a matter of time before we take notice. Then all they have to do is see out their contact with the grunters and come sign for us.

Too early to judge. Some kids look world-beaters at 15, but disappear when they get older.

Others,, like Rooney, fulfill their potential.

That is true, I know some who looked world beaters at the age of 10 and now either stop playing football or get caught up by those who used to be smaller and slower
