Sheffield UTD fans are being robbed. We live an hour north of you and our coaches range from £25 to £30. Maybe diesel costs more in Sheffield!!

Maybe our coaches have more modern equipment, like a roof.
Maybe it's because we are better off than you. For a start, we don't live in Burnley.

Our coaches are costing more because:

* Sheffield council (Wednesday fans mostly) are charging us to close Bramall Lane off on that morning to use as a coach park.

* All our coaches are being staffed by two drivers to eradicate the need for long stops both down and back.

* Some coaches have been recruited from all over Yorkshire, and rightly want recompense for their travel before they pick up fans.

* We plan to take two extra, empty buses in case of break downs.

TBF, he's right, it's a rip off. The train is cheaper!

don't run coaches at at a profit? i think that's questionable
£27 to Plymouth and Southampton
and £35 to Wembley something slightly dodgy there if you ask me
also we did charge £5 more than than preston for the away leg of the playoff semis

Many differences in that the trip to Wembley also includes at least the following:

  • Bank holiday surcharge
  • Cost of parking at Wembley
  • Extra driver
  • 2 x spare coaches
  • More companies needed due to number of coaches
  • Closure of Bramall Lane (payment to Sheffield (wednesday) Council)
Perhaps Preston's coach companies are better value?

I understand that occasionally, they run at a loss.

I should imagine the insurance costs are quite high to transport undesirables such as football fans around the country.

why are people complaining....theres nothing stating the clubs have to put coaches on, if people dont like it they should organise their own.

Bear in mind that when united booked the coaches, every coach company in South Yorkshire will have had a call off the club and I dare say many will have though....Sheff Utd, 37,000 people, bank holiday monday! Hoof we'll have some of that.....add 50% onto the charge.

If the trains cheaper go on the train. If the planes cheaper go on the plane.

But dont blame the club for doing everything it can to ensure the fans can get to the most ridiculously situated ground ever.

Spot on there Greg....I don't like the official coaches, hence not going on them.
