Wembley - Ticket Details

Big praise for ticket office this lunchtime. I went at 12.45 and asked if I could use Superdraw tickets and my lads 2600 points. Was told they couldn't sell them until 2.30, as advertised. However if I wanted to do the tickets as a postal application they would process them now. Brilliant, no queue, took 2 mins, really helpful. Now that is the Blades way.

Grrr, despite updating the required points total to 2,500, it still says you need to have a pre-requisite item.

1 - 0 the Roddler ;)

1-1 - all sorted now :) 2 tickets ordered.

Tried initially and it didn't work. Sent an email to the ticket office and they responded within about 2 minutes to say it had been updated and to try again. Good work ticket office!

Anyone know how soon after purchasing online the block number is visible in your purchase history? I can see the tickets there, but no details.

Don't know, bought mine yesterday and there was nothing there except confirmation of cost, logged on this morning and it said block etc. Presumably they allocate the tickets after closing the office. So I would guess you'd see tomorrow.

And you didn't chin him ?

. Funny how they never have these problems at Swillsbrough......... ST holders 1st then anyone can stand in a queue in the pissing down rain and they SELL OUT straight away, mates can sit with mates, families can sit together etc etc............. betchya I can buy a Weberleee ticket the day before the game.

This is exactly what the Wednesday fans have been moaning about. Basically fans who had been to most away games this season where unable to go to Chesterfield and Brentford because 'loyalty' was defined as who could queue up the longest and not who had been to away games. Fans were then allowing their mates into the front of the queue or buying on bulk for their mates . That is why they are going to a 'points' system.

The object is not to sell tickets as quickly as possible, but to reward fans who have been to most games and ensure the ticket office from being overloaded. Burnley sold out their allocation before us but we ended up selling more in 2009......we just sold them in a more civilised manner(and people were moaning then as they couldn't buy extra tickets)

IMO,priority should be given to those 'members' and 'ST Holders' who have attended the most (home and away)the last 2 seasons and then over a rolling two seasons. Therefore season tickets will always be prioritised and those who can't afford the lump sum aren't penalised as they can buy a membership card, get a discounted ticket and still accumulate points.

Remember,st holders get 2700 points up front. but members don't and still have to go to games to get the points. If people decided they did not want to get a membership card as they didn't want to pay the initial £15,that is the gamble they took and consequently fall back down the pecking order. Maybe they didn't have any intention of going initially becuase of third tier football or that Wilson was appointed.

The current membership system was well publised and worth the money. You don't have to carry a card with you because if you go to the ticket office, they ask you name and find you on the system and allocate the points.

Some will always be pissed off as it doesn't suit their circumstances but the system seems reasonably fair to me. Some seem to be upset due to their own misjudgement in not getting a membership card(and so saving money and activating points) especially when they have realised that if they had gone to games with the card, they would easily get the cost back...hardly a case of the club ripping fans off is it ?

Everyone will get a ticket who wants one so I can't see the issue. If you want to sit in a group, wait for general sale day or when the person with the lowest points (and a st holder or member) qualifies and buy them all together.

I just think that people will find anything just to moan about the club.

.
Which is what I had to do, seems to me as good a system as any.

How crap is that last statement. I don't often moan at MY club. The simple fact that I've said before is if your going to call it a loyaty scheme then exclude those who have been loyal this season it is a cotradiction.
Suggestion. scrap loyalty points each year and start them afresh every season. At least those who have bought tickets game by game then membership or not will have loyalty points building up and those who bought memberships but went to one game only will be down the pecking order. Its the recognision of members being able to buy before those who have been more loyal that is the problem. AS STATED BEFORE, THE SYSTEM RECOGNISES YOUR PURCHASES SO IT CAN SEE YOU HAVE BEEN LOYAL, SO JUST RECONISE THE POINTS THAT ARE THERE AND IT BECOMES INCLUSIVE. THERE WAS NO NEED TO EXCLUDE THOSE WITHOUT SEASON TICKETS OR MEMBERSHIPS WHO HAD THOUSANDS OF LOYALTY POINTS.

Plus it allows for similar situations to the Blackburn match the other year... Where those actually at the away match the night before were disadvantaged as they couldn't physically get back quick enough before the queue had already built up in the car park.

Similarly, I've got a rather healthy points tally having only missed the odd game since the points system came in, but was in Exeter with plenty of others (following the match) when Stevenage first leg tickets went on sale.

I can't think of any fairer way to implement, it's sad that there had to be a start date (many of us would have gargantuan totals if matches before the system started had been logged) but once it was in place it's by far the fairest way.

.

Absolutely. I haven't moaned at the club since Sealo was in charge! At least I got a ticket today but that was probably down to lack of overall interest more than anything. They can stick their so called loyalty scheme.

The Loyalty scheme is the fairest way to do things I must agree but I must stress the word fairest, it is not perfect by any means and never will be. I can see where people will be miffed when someone who buys only a £15 club membership will get priority over someone who actually has been to matches this season. It does seem a bit like a loyalty tax in other words a way to buy preference much the same as someone who decides to travel away by the official coaches can rack up more loyalty points than the guy who for his own reasons prefers to make his own way to games.

NO MATTER WHAT SYSTEM IS EMPLOYED
there will be flaws, it wont suit everyone, the only fair way would be rock paper scissors , but itd take all day
One thing that could be introduced is minus loyalty points for anyone caught moaning in here or being pessimistic, 1000 off for anyone saying we cant win for example
Any negativity like weve lost in finals before lose 2000 for stating the obvious
5000 off for anyone who says wednesday deserved to go up

If you don't like queuing the combination of extraordinary prices for a division three match and the loyalty points scheme has certainly done the trick so far.

The ominous signs are United have not said anything officially about how many have been sold which smacks of the build up to the play off semi - ie not many.

And we haven't sold out of any category or even close to selling out any category by the sounds of it despite all ST holders and members having had their chance to buy.

We won't sell more than a few hundred after tomorrow so we're hoping huge numbers of Blades have held back for general sale and shall descend in their thousands on Saturday.

I've waited all my life to see us win at Wembley and it won't be the same in a half empty stadium.

If we take 25,000 or less the football authorities should take note and radically change their prices and consider OT in future - but there's more chance of that than a Monty winnner on Sat.

You are wanting to change the rules AFTER they have been introduced . Who says the members are less 'loyal'. What happens if you don't go for two years but still have more points than someone who has one for the last two years(e.g. a kid who has got their first season tickets)...who should get priority then ?

All you had to do was pay £15 at the beginning of the season to become a member and save moneyt on the games you can attend. Some fans chose not to so chose to slip down the priority list.

As for the 'crap' last statement? You response proves the point.

Perfectly valid sentiments, particularly the last one. Anyone who isn't going because of the cost should be exempt from any criticism of his/her Bladeness. For maybe an extra £100 above what the day will cost me, it's possible to buy Kop ST's for me and my lad next year.

That said. These are the games that are a reward for a long season's hard yards. Shivering in the rain, spending all day out in January when car headlights are on all day. December's eternal darkness, February's four-seasons-in-one-day days when whatever you've put on it's wrong. A chance to have a final, unexpected day out with all the people you spend so much of your spare time with and might not see some of the more faraway ones for a few months. Even better, this time it doesn't feel apocalyptic. If we win, fantastic. If we lose, when are we at Brentford or Bury again?

Finally, one more reason to go if you can. This time, the manager and players deserve it.

So you are moaning because you have a ticket today.Priceless. We have 40k to sell...everyone who wants to go will get a ticket You say they can 'stick' the loyalty system because it doesn't suit you so what alternative do you have ? Queuing at all hours ?

In other words we have sold around 15,000............... MASSIVE springs to mind.
Still say the loyalty scheme is over complicated.

They can stick their loyalty scheme because it doesn't reward loyalty. My circumstances are such that I am unlikely to buy a season ticket again. However, it would have been nice had the club shown a little bit more gratitude for the 37 that I've bought in the past. You may think that's wrong but to me loyalty does not begin and end each season. Yes I got my ticket but not until after the clubs attitude to me when I spoke to them totally pissed me off so yes I will moan at them. Glad I've given you a priceless moment for the day.

Couple of people on another site who say asked in ticket office told we had sold 13 or 14,000 by this afternoon.

If that's true let's hope we make 20,000.

Unless TO means that's how many they've sold and doesn't include online and phone.

They can stick their loyalty scheme because it doesn't reward loyalty...

Well for me it kinda does, given that I could go down at the very first opportunity having missed hardly any games since the scheme began. We'll no go into that so could people with nearly half the points I have, as it's irrelevant with queuing times being fairly sensible (e.g. not camped out all night.... though a fellow from Conisbrough chose to :D).

No, they didn't count the years I'd done before the start point, but there was never a fair point to start was there? other than the formation of the club.

You are essentially saying that they can "stick the scheme that gives priority to those who attend matches", so how would you measure loyalty?

Wont have sold that many if only a select few , the 4000 away regulars have had first dibs, , once they realise with 38000 there plenty to go round and put them on general sale be moving a lot faster

Oh and Huddersfield have sold around 10k so far, with general sale starting tomorrow.
