Having said that as soon as we missed the penalty I had a feeling it would end 0-0 - you simply cannot pass up chances like that - score that, they have to come out and the whole game is different.

Very poor penalty to be honest, no pace, no height and too near Dawson. Once it was missed you had that feeling that it was not going to be our night.
Very disappointed, last five games we seem to have lost our goal scoring edge, 3 goals in 5.

Right, I need to get this off my chest, please please please don't be coming on here moaning & saying we are crap blah blah blah. For six years I had to put up with my club sinking to the low of League 1, with uninspiring players & even worse managers & no chink of light until Wilder came to us. In less that two & a half seasons we have gone up as Champions with 100 points, had a great start to life back in the Championship before a late fade & have started this season playing some fantastic stuff. Yes we need quality up front, but we are basically outgrowing ourselves & are in need of the next level up of striker before we can afford one (Billy excepted).
We have played some terrific football especially this year & I am far happier watching us now even though we are having trouble scoring as many as our play merits that I ever was when we were in the doldrums. I mean just look at the majority of our possession stats, the first half tonight was like watching 1970's total football Holland side versus a non league team, there is a huge gap in class between us & Wendy despite the result, & they are actually fucking proud of that effort from them, fuck me if I were one of them lot I would contemplate suicide just so I didn't have to watch them again.
We are on a massive (sorry) upward curve, never mind the width, feel the quality.

Hinchcliffe was the best pundit I've heard for years, surprised me how good his was.

When I saw McGoldrick stand just two steps away from the ball I knew he was just going to gently place it. Problem is the goalie can guess right 50% of the time, and if he guesses right and it's not right in the corner there's every chance he'll save it.
If you take a penalty like that you have to stagger your run to get the goalie to commit himself

It should have been thumped in, blasted, even just drilled down the middle, all technique and style should have gone out the window for that one chance to get us off to the start we craved for

I think we would have absolutely battered them if we had gone in front.

As it was, as bad as they were all match, I was very happy to take the draw at the end, as I know how spawny they are and I was starting to think they might nick a goal from a fluke gust of wind or something.

We played well, should have won, and gave then a lesson in how to play football. A point isnt the end of the world either. Everyone knows we are streets ahead of them...and importantly, they know it too.

Agree mate, he gave him the eyes as well then kicked it where he was looking. That said, I’m not going to be too critical. Tonight was like a league 2 team scraping a glorious battling draw in the cup against top opposition. Like us under Adkins at ManU. If we’d scored that pen it would have drawn the bastards out and we’d have scored 2 or 3. Trust you are well BTW? UTB!
