Well played Billy Sharp

If fit and available, Sharp and Didzy HAVE to start, as it stands.
Not sure they have to. Dids should for the most part but his partner should probably rotate from Bill Burke and Moose.

Being objective about this, Rhian is one for the future. Can’t possibly happen of course, but a spell out on loan with a specific brief of pitch time, and a strict regime of diet and fitness to follow at the same time to improve strength, stamina and speed should do the trick.

Our 6th choice striker ....................

👀😉.

Last 3 games he has started ,76 year old veteran Sharp has scored the winner , made one scored one ,manufactured the breakthrough against the in form club at the top of the league. Derby can fuck off ,Mcgoldrick /Sharp is still our best starting attack ,with Burke to come on. Burke ,Brewster and Mcburnie can learn so much from these 2 if they are willing. Sharp will move on to the coaching staff in a few years ,we will miss him as a player. Genuine club legend.

Cracking photo in today’s Star of the first goal and Billy’s ‘little nudge’ on the goalie !

Quote from Mrs. Joe - “Won’t Chris Wilder be mad at Billy for doing that - it’s not fair “ . 😄
i just think having him on the pitch gives the other lads a lift even if he can only last an hour its what weve been lacking a leader and if hes physically ok i would play him again against city hes a real nuisance for defenders

My boy did well, but he's not the answer 😂 ,funny how we've started winning since he's back in the team. ;)

After watching the 100 Billy Sharp Goals on our Youtube site, 3 things stood out;

How poor Championship defences are cf the PL
How many times Duffy was involved in the build up or final ball
The certainty that given game time BS will easily get into double figures next season

Funny how Duff has done nowt since leaving us , such a pivotal player for us , will always be loved by me ❤️

TradeCraft at its finest !!

This is why he has to start more More knowhow than our other strikers put together. This is why he is our best striker even at 36.He has seen it all before and knows how to deal with ring craft ,it's called experience . I'm all in favour of giving young'uns a run out but just now we need old heads .Jags proved it last night and so did Billy you can not beat old heads when in a battle.Give young'uns a run out when the time is right .even filling the bench with lads must be good for them but Old Trafford is not the place for them when we are in our position.

Billy is still the best striker we've got, and I don't understand why people don't think so because of his age ( Born 5th Feb 1986 ) nobody says that about Vardy and there's only a year in it ( 11th Jan 1987)

One of Teddy Sheringham’s most productive periods for goals and assists was between the age of 37 - 40 .

When he scored his last PL goal he was approaching the age of 41 . Just saying , like . :)

Last season, Sharp started it looking way off the pace. Not quick enough, not strong enough, not a good enough touch, I think a lot of fans were quick to write off his future with us if we remained a PL side, culminating in talk of a January loan move. Fast forward six weeks and Sharp is starting for us and looking a bit more like he belonged. In our final game before the first lockdown, he started and scored in our 1-0 victory over Norwich. He looked like he’d learned to use his body better, he was giving defenders a hard time, and his touch had improved.

Anyone think that’s happening again? Maybe it’s age but Billy now strikes me as someone who needs to feel his way back in. After a good performance against Man Utd and a decent cameo this afternoon (what a touch for Fleck btw) he’s looking like he did just before lockdown. Didsy is still a guaranteed starter for the West Brom game for me, but I’m feeling like Sharp could be the right option beside him.

Either way, fair play Billy Sharp. He’s continually had to work hard to get back into this team with all the incomings and he’s absolutely done that.

Very good again, when he came on - never shies away, always offers himself in space, holds it up well - and is incredibly shrewd against far more expensive top-flight defenders. Draws fouls out of them, like they're naive.

Sharp has been our most impressive performer in terms of all round Striker capability in each of the last 3 pre seasons.

I cannot agree with your point as regards “easing” his way in.

What I can say is that Wilder has short changed the lad, and this, certainly this season at least, has been to the detriment of the side as a whole.

I am adamant we would have more than 8 points if he had had more pitch time.

Used to like him Adam Ant.

Sharp is still a very good and a very big player for us. He will continue to be so for at least this and then next season.

Very underrated, sometimes even by our own fans which I cannot understand.

His chest back to Fleck today was sublime and a piece of top centre forward play. A City player does that and you are thinking 'that's why they paid the big money they did for him'.

Very important player for us is Billy.

Feeling his way, not easing his way. Easing implies that he’s not giving 100%. But anyway, splitting hairs. I know full well your feelings on Billy, so I understand you think that. For me, he’s had a lot of games where he’s looked miles off it and any balls that have gone his way have been lost pretty easily. But last year he grew into it, in my opinion, and this year he’s looking the same.

Yep. His desire gives everyone else the lift we've been collectively lacking without him. No coincidence we are looking more like our old selves with him on the pitch.

Not saying he's solely responsble but is a proper skipper who earns respect through those leadership qualities imho😊.

I love billy, but vardy has scored and performed consistently in the premier whereas much of Billy's best work has been in the division below
