From what I've seen from people who have been right in the past. Looking like Burkes going to go to Boro and we will be getting a goalkeeper in and that's your lot. Other words we are fucked. Least our upturn was fun while it lasted. Back to being the United we know all to well.

I’m not convinced we have “great” U/23’s….I think we have several players who might make a living out of the game so we are more successful than most similarly sized clubs of Tier 2 status…. But I’m sorry to say I don’t see any single one of them being anywhere near ready to provide the creative spark or defensive solidity needed to transform this team into promotion hopefuls playing how the manager wants.
In fact I’d go as far to say if we end up relying on them we will be leaving the league via the back door!

I agree, I think they’ve targeted the very top targets and possibly they didn’t do the due diligence that these players would come hence the delays. If they’d opted for lower level players they could have had them in almost certainly. That’s the risk they’ve taken, we now only get to see if their gamble pays off, and they’ll be serious questions raised if they got the gamble wrong. When I saw what we were clearly looking to do I said it means everything will happen late, I just can’t understand why it’s such a surprise.
Fans saying we won’t sign anyone is just nonsense, as we certainly will, it’s about who and the backups they have in place.

Opting for lower level players? There are quality loans gone to other championship clubs that would have improved us immensely.
There appears to be a total lack of coherent transfer strategy. We are short. And what we get in the door in the next few days will still leave us short. Too little too late.

Players outside the usually starting 11 have had more energy and will to show and maybe they are not so deeply in the shadow of previous PL season.
