'We'll never get 4 through the door in a week'

I like many others are really pissed off and rightly so but I’ve come to the realisation of it is what it is now. The recruitment team is awful and hasn’t made a quality signing since egan for £4m. It needs to be freshened up as much as the squad in my opinion. The owner is also largely in the blame here. Although I think lots of this is on the recruitment team, I can’t back the owner like i have been doing any more. You can’t get in a manager like SJ who needs funds to build a squad to play his way, promise him funds and then not deliver those funds. I’ve seen things about the funds being set with the view of rammers and sander being sold but, although lacking common sense, those at the top aren’t stupid so why the fuck haven’t we thought about this scenario and planned for this. This also brings me onto booing. I know if performances stay like this, the lane will become toxic but towards the owner but lets be honest, he’s never here so the booing will literally only effect the players and make us an even less attractive proposition

You’re assuming that what was promised in funds. For all you know he could have been told if we don’t generate £40M in sales it’s loans only. The £40M would at least match what was covered in The Athletic which was know has links in with the board. Alternatively he could have been promised the world.
No one really knows on here, so you’re just deciding what was promised based on your frustration.

Put it this way, he was promised some signings or he would have never come. The plan seemed to always be loans but we’re struggling to even get those in. Anyway you’re focus isn’t on the main point of the post. The main post is essentially, getting no one in and making the lane toxic has no impact on the owner. Only harming ourselves

Yeah, I don’t see getting no one in as a likely scenario so didn’t pay much attention to that.

Booing the players during a game is non-productive … booing at the final whistle is fine as it is the best way to show displeasure if the performance is poor get the message to the players.

Against ownership you need creative demonstrations that catch the media’s attention

It’s a fair point

Screenshot_2021-08-28-09-54-43-074_com.android.chrome.jpgI know it is more complex than this but just from the TV money from two years in the Premier League we received over £200m.

Whilst in the Premier League we were constantly fed the line that we wer not breaking the bank contract wise with players and this was the reason that several targeted players chose other clubs over us (gone to Villa).

I appreciate there are substantial costs in running a football club but with what we spent on signings (and have more than recouped in the case of Ramsdale) I am really struggling to imagine where the figure of a £40m loss per year has come from. Parachute payments are around the £40m mark so that would would imply that we are looking at an £80m yearly deficit. If that is true it is shocking to me, that is around £1.4m per week.

Before the promotion to the premier League as far as I can see we we were being run in a sensible manner so what happened? We have gone from roughly break even, having a £200m+ injection of capitol over 2 years to losing £80m a year?

I am not necessarily an advocate of get munneh spent and can see that the owner doesn't owe the fan base a huge injection of his own capitol but for those defending the board and policy how do you explain the huge shift in fortunes?

You get very aggressive.
How have I done it again when all I did is quote your original comment?
I’m trying to understand the type of funding you think the Prince should be putting in and you’re getting all tough and touchy. Is it maybe a couple of £5m transfer fees and £30-40k/week or less then that? Would a couple of quality loans suffice probably costing between £5 and 10M?
What are you actually asking for so we know wether he needs to “do one”?
So after jumping in with your keyboard two footer, you are now asking me what I mean and to basically justify have an opinion that differs to yours…

youre the reason most don’t comment on here! Proper troll. Phase1 don’t listen and sensational phase2 say ‘you’re getting agressive then ask what you mean. Proper troller.

back to the matter in hand, two midfielders buy one c, 10£m and loan one. A sizeable investment of c. £20m over the season and one I would expect our chairman to make in our position. A position that gets more difficult every season we are in the Championship

It’s an Internet forum to discuss opinions. I’m asking you to explain what you mean as you’ve said I’ve misunderstood what you posted. It’s not justifying it’s clarifying.
You seem to have a problem with anyone questioning your view, I’m just trying to understand what you’re proposing.
Now you’ve said you expect a further £20M on top of our expected losses plus a commitment to another couple of million over the length of contract I understand what you’re asking for and I don’t think it’s likely to happen.
You keep talking for others saying what I’m preventing them from doing, but I’m hardly a common poster and the forum is seemingly doing just fine with or without me. Maybe you just need to use the ignore function if it upsets you so much. If others question me I’ll generally answer them, if it’s those I consider to be in the forum idiots I’ll generally ignore them, it’s not hard to demonstrate some self determination.
It genuinely wasn’t my intention to stop you posting, if you post something I don’t understand or agree with and I see it, I’ll question it. You don’t need to take everything so personally.

I tell you what will send us into financial ruin, not investing. It’s a small part of the reason we ended up very close to a mess in league one. Very difficult to compete, in a division we’re every club is willing to take risks and work at a loss. Sometimes if your too honest you end up being a de facto cuck to those around you.

By no means I am I asking the prince to Chuck loads of money at the club if he hasn’t got it (The Wendy’s did that), but being too cautious will see us land in the same place. It’s about balance. Until the EFL really start to punish clubs with winding up orders, the sustainable clubs will be pushed around, the really sad thing is the clubs that take risks know severe sanctions will never come into play because you’d end up with one league that contained about 10 teams in it.
we invested 65m on berge mcburnie and brewster all failures

I don’t think anyone apart from the real idiots and slashers believe we won’t sign anyone. It’s more about the level of those we do sign and how many we bring in.
You really are insulting a lot of valid supporters who have real concerns over the state of the squad and transfers. We have a few days to go and only 1 loan in the door. There may be more coming in but it is down to the wire. I expect us to get 2 more in but I am concerned we have not addressed some areas of the squad. I think we could like most other teams at least have had a few more loan players in by now.

It’s hard because if just one of those had been a success it would have changed
Everyrhing.

A) we might have stayed up
B) their value would have exponentially increased

I know Liverpool had a buy back but if Brewster had got 15+ PL goals, he’d be in the England squad. There’s a chance he’s be worth upwards of 60m to a PL side.

if berge had looked the CL player he was, we’d have been worth at least a ‘Ben white’

It’s just a shame we seemingly lost any ability to spot a player (any player).

With 20:20 hindsight do we make any signing of the last 2 years again… I’m not so sure.

I agree, I think they’ve targeted the very top targets and possibly they didn’t do the due diligence that these players would come hence the delays. If they’d opted for lower level players they could have had them in almost certainly. That’s the risk they’ve taken, we now only get to see if their gamble pays off, and they’ll be serious questions raised if they got the gamble wrong. When I saw what we were clearly looking to do I said it means everything will happen late, I just can’t understand why it’s such a surprise.
Fans saying we won’t sign anyone is just nonsense, as we certainly will, it’s about who and the backups they have in place.

At it again in his mums spare bedroom. Flat Bob the keyboard bully. Grow up and stop arguing with fellow Blades just because you are bored and this forum is your only ‘friend’

no one on here has to justify themselves to you of all people. Just give it a rest for all our sakes.

There’s only one of us telling others what to do or to stop doing something because they say so. I think you’re seriously projecting on the bullying stuff. As I said if you don’t like it, ignore me, or ignore the posts you don’t have to reply but one of us is answering or questioning the topic with every reply, the other is just being a bit of a dick. Your aggressive sensitivity is getting seriously boring now and your name calling rather pathetic. What next, do you offer to fight me behind Halfords? Move on and use the ignore option if your sensitivity can’t handle someone asking you to back up or discuss your opinions on an Internet forum.

Time and time again you bring it down to a keyboard argument. You come across quite pathetic and extremely lonely

Not aggressive nor sensitive nor have the time you seem to have. Now where is that ignore button.

We can quite easily get 4 in.

We are extremely unlikely to get 4 with senior experience in

4 in in 3 days is going some. I hope you are right. I’d settle for two midfielders and Davies
If we want U23s with some potential but no experience (basically 18 year olds) then it's not a problem.

If you want someone like Henderson with 50+ senior games then competition is fierce and we are lacking funds

We already have great u23’s so pointless bringing in more.

experience needed in the middle of the park and between the sticks.

won’t mind youth on the wings ie Brookes.

I think we'll likely end up bringing the Algerian 'veteran', a free transfer keeper and 2 very young loans in

Would that be a good window along with Davies who is quality Btw.

Plus and few outs Lowe, Smith, Burke?

Plus maybe a couple of loan outs??

Not particularly good tbh. We needed plenty of things and I'm not sure we've got them

How fast players are able to play in match after signing, right away?

I’m not convinced we have “great” U/23’s….I think we have several players who might make a living out of the game so we are more successful than most similarly sized clubs of Tier 2 status…. But I’m sorry to say I don’t see any single one of them being anywhere near ready to provide the creative spark or defensive solidity needed to transform this team into promotion hopefuls playing how the manager wants.
In fact I’d go as far to say if we end up relying on them we will be leaving the league via the back door!

but the fact is none of them have been a success add another 9m on mousset and thats 74m spent on failures wilder and mitchell have to carry the can im afraid they brought them all in

If we can't recruit let's at least get a new recruitment team in .... some people who are fit for purpose and with knowhow of the foreign market.
