I checked your profile and was amazed to see your first game was 1975. Do you genuinely and honestly believe that our current poor team is even worse than:

1980/81 and Peter's team of none trying toerags, incompetents and Givens
1987/88 Billy ('carrot and the stick but without the carrot') McEwan's men including Space Cadette
1999 -/ 01 Heath and then Warnock's abysmal early years.

The current lot are just disappointingly crap but don't come anywhere near 1980/81 IMHO.

Sorry, he isn't up to it for me. And I'm not a fan of all the overreacting of player's abilities we get when we win. It was Coutts the other week, it seems it's Reed this.

Those who know a bit about football recognised Coutts ability way before a few weeks ago, last season in fact. The same is true of Louis Reed, who's just old enough to buy his own beer.

Still at least we get a break from your constant berating of Adkins and you've got a new hobby horse to ride. Fair play to you conjuring up a new argument, in typically tedious repetitive style even after a win.

It seems Reedy needs a bit of TLC at times and after yesterday at Donny he played very well.

It was interesting to me that he played EXACTLY the same roll away against Burton earlier in the season with similar results.

When he sits deep and has a minder Reed distributes the ball very well.

Yes he has some frailties - and size, unfortunately is one - and, the lad needs to work on his upper body strength which will come with age.

As with all footballers, they have good points and bad ones (at this level), Reed has the advantage of age on his side to alter his game to suit - he is after all still learning at 19.

He may develop into a better player (yes he might Alco ) - one thing is certain (IMHO) he WILL be a starter next season and it is up to him to become a regular.

Our ethos appears to be changing to more younger players - Adkins has said as much probably due to the reality of the money (or lack of much more).

I'd get used to him and some of the other younger players - this seems as though it could be Adkins "new" blueprint to take us forward.

Size does not matter when you have real class. I sat at the Newcastle friendly with my Toon pal and after 10 minutes watching Reed he asked who he was as he stood out (against a Prem team).

The lad has played for England. For anyone to write him off is just daft.

I just love watching Reed play - with his head up he invariably plays the right ball and rarely gives up possession even when playing in a team of statues. As he gets more game time he will develop as a box to box key man in midfield.

My big question mark, is why he has not played more this season, but that question mark is against the manager not the player.

He is the only Blade player in history to have made at least 100 league starts as a teenager. He left for L**ds when he was still a teenager, had very bad luck with injuries (caused by his bravery)

No, he made his debut when he was 18. 4 league starts in 2010-11, 44 in 2011-12 and 44 in 2012-13 (he turned 20 on 5th March 2013). Think he might have made 100 games in all competitions as a teenager, maybe the same with Curtis Woodhouse

Reed is a good prospect but a new Tony Currie he is not, He is getting starts in a THIRD division team and that is probably where he will make his living. Other great prospects in the Blades past got their starts at a much higher level but like all youngsters who can say for certain where they will end up ......................... you only have to look at De Juve to see they can just as easily fall into obscurity.

Sorry but which league gives you time on the ball? Unless you're playing Villa of course. You don't get much time on the ball in the championship and teams like Spurs don't sit off you.

Players in the top league get time on the ball because they are able to get it under full control very quickly and PL players know you don't rush in with a tackle when the oppo has full control of the ball. When a player doesn't immediately control the ball, he'll get dispossessed quickly.
