Well Done Henderson

Didn't he stick one in from half a yard last night ?
Didn't call you a retard ,never even responded to you before but something must have touched a nerve. Do you really understand football ? A target man isn't just to score goals ,he brings other players into the game ,if he could do all the things you suggest he would cost 5 million or more.

Thing is, henderson dosen't bring players into the game. He has an awful control for a pro footballer who cost us £2million.

Shipps, Allision, Whitehurst and BT(to an extent)? cost over £5 million??? They did all the things i suggest.

Maybe we shouldn't have bought Henderson and Ched and we could have this £5million player!

The real retards are people who can't see that there are more than one way to play football ,if you want a team of keepy uppers and nutmeggers support Real Madrid who have won about as much as us over the past few years.

Indirect response, it's still calling people a retard for wanting to win things....

If you look at the original post I replied to called Monty ,Hendo and Cotterill retards.
If we spent 5 million on your player in place of Hendo and Evans who would he lay the ball off to now Ward is injured and how would his wages fit in ??
Didn't we have that player and wasn't he called James Beattie ?

Totally agree. Daz is an excellent player in my opinion and he is essential to any chance of success this term. Not sure why we spent £3m on a striker who cannot play with him but that's my opinion again. Boy did we miss him at Wembley.

Ward injury has taken a very small part of shine off last night for me, really hope he is not rushed back though.

Fair play about the retards stuff. Still don't like it being branded about on anyone though.

BT cost £4 million, would leave some money in the pot for us for another striker. As it stands, Henderson won't have anyone to lay the ball off too. Ched will be on the bench and cotts in for ward.

BT Was a great striker, held the ball up, brought others in and scored goals. Lots of goals. Ched cost £3million and BT £4, i'd prefer to spend the extra and have another BT.

And also, i didn't say spend £5million on this player, I pointed out that the likes of H.M.S Shipps and The Chief cost alot less and did a better job than henderson. We don't need to spend silly money on shyte players.

whilst i'd agree with much of the rest of the post i think the above section could also be levelled at Blackwell most of the time.

All in all a very distinct game of two halves showing what an early goal for your side can do. Now's not a time for slating players, just enjoy the result we got. And as for them playing the better football much of that was some distance away from being dangerous. It felt terrible last night because every blade has that worrying urge as soon as things start to go wrong but in the cold light of the next day in reality Bunn didn't have too much else to do other than save the long range free kick and if our central defence had more than an hour with each other there's no way Tudgay would have had the time and space he did to take that shot.

That was as good as it gets for them in the 2nd half by their own admission whereas we all know there's so much more our set of players can do and yet we still managed to bang in three in the first half and could well have had many more. Even if I had any choice in the matter I'd take sitting on this side of the fence every day of the week, both today and for the foreseeable future.

We've now got some time to get Killa back, get Davies up to speed and to get someone in up front and sit in a decent position. Things are good at the moment despite the performances still not being quite there, let's all be happy for now at least.

Does anyone else find it sad that just over an hour after beating Wendy following a year of sniping and ragging about such a famous double some of our 'supporters' would rather come out with that crock of shit above. Henderson and Montgomery are 2 of the 4 reasons along with Ward and Morgan that we got that result tonight but hey lets slag them off as retards.
The real retards are people who can't see that there are more than one way to play football ,if you want a team of keepy uppers and nutmeggers support Real Madrid who have won about as much as us over the past few years. Passion ,strength and tackling have just as much place as juggling skills and flickability ,why not recognise what these players bring to Utd and add to them........and be happy for once that we beat the real retards from down the road.
Well said.Just about sums it up.

Oh Sitters, you never change do you? You were coming out with comments like "Do you really understand football" years ago on BU and you still haven't made it to the lofty heights of Football League management have you? You know why that is? Becase maybe YOU don't understand football. Maybe you're the one who's wrong, and maybe you're the one so blinkered by your loyalty to the club that you just can't see that big boot football to the static target man has had its day.

Not saying that we shouldn't be able to battle when we need to, but I am saying that playing a one dimensional game leaves us nowhere to go when things go wrong and I repeat, the likes of Henderson and Monty really don't enhance our chances of playing any other way as they're as limited as can be.

We don't need much to change it, a ball player in midfield would do for starters, then Harper could do the holding role as he did when supporting Sidwell, and that way we could get away from the endless aimless running and unprodutive spoiling from the midfield.

As to the strikers well get some pace up there, that scares defenders more than a big lump who does nothing but give free kicks away.

Sorry if that makes me some kind of lesser Blade but whatever, I'm as entitled to my opinion as you or anyone else and yes, I do understand football :fishbowl::eek::fishbowl:

Marty baby. Tut, tut. A bit of pot calling kettle here. My experience of reading your posts has led me to believe that you can actually be a tad intolerant of views that don't fit in with your own as well.;)

Anyway, do you still regard Monty as a pub player like you did 6 years ago?

1st Derby he played in, 100% record.

In the previous 4 games v the filth their defence pretty much dominated a weak UTD front line.

Not friday, not against Hendo. Best target man in the league.

Yep shoot him with an arrow you could.

:fishbowl:

To be honest I dont know why anyone is surprised that Hendo has a hard time with the refs.

We knew what sort of reputation he had when we bought him.

But it's a reputation that on seeing him play (and not ust with Red & White specs on) isn't fully deserved.
Just like Kevin Davis he gets the rough end of most decisions.
He gets manhandled by defenders who don't know how to cope with a man of his size, he gets kicked pulled and generally gropped every game but gets no help from the man with the whistle.
He doesmoan to Refs a lot which may stand him in bad stead for future decisions, but i'd have a word with the ref too if someone had been just trying to symaltaniously remove my shirt and bum me at the same time and then got the freekick too.

Its a reputation that is deserved and a remember enough of us slag him off when we he was still at Watford.

Can't argue with that sunshine, I am one stubborn man and that's a fact :rolleyes::mad:

Let's just say, if I was managing the average pub side Monty wouldn't get a game, I don't even think he's that good anymore :tumbleweed::header::tumbleweed:

Seams like everones had a go at this one so may as well join in

My worry with Hendo is that in many games he's becoming inneffective. There are games ( like friday) when you need a henderson . Also handy for away games when the team needs an outlet to hold the ball .

Hendo has his uses , but personally i wouldnt stick him on the teamsheet as a matter of course . Theres a time and a place depending on the shape of the team , the occasion , the opposition , etc.

The problem is , that in the games we need him , he's giving away Foul after Foul .
It doesn't matter if its victimisation /reputation or the refs an arse or whatever . The result is that his effectiveness is nil. Instead of Holding the ball up we simply give it back to the opposition through a free kick.

Playing hederson as part of the mainstay tactics also has the effect of giving the CB/ Midfield a lazy option of humping it the hedo rather than paying it to feet or trying to exploit the gap behind the back four.

In essence the blokes a useful tool to have ( no pun intended) but as we have no other options in the forward dept, were using the wrong tool for the job at least half the time
