This has come up a few times before I think.
I remember when we were in the championship against premier league Liverpool (Houllier?) going off on one after GS announced the teams as “We are pleased to welcome one of the finest, most historic legendary clubs in English football! And also their opponents Liverpool”.

And of course:
“Scorer for the blades - Des Walker!”

I’m alright with it. I’d have no problems if some other announcer did it to us.

Wilder was of course on record apologising and angry after he announced “Just 2 minutes additional time - unfortunately for the Blades fans” when we were hammering Villa at end of 1st half, but I honestly don’t think he was shithousing that time - just over excited about how well we were playing.

I think he ran out of time before the KO for reading the teams out, he had to fly through ours just to get it in.

Pretty sure it’s deliberate - in my head it was the Nott’s Forest playoff with Peschisollido waving his shirt around the last time I remember him doing it, but I’m never early these days.

There was supposed to be a period of silence after the Last Post, until the referees whistle.

Hence the awkward step forward and then back from Bannon and the officials pausing on what to do but then just getting on with it.

I think every time we’ve tried it that way, a proportion have always assumed the end of the Last Post was time to make noise again.

I don’t know how involved GS gets in the planning of the pre match build up but it was absolutely spot on today to get the crowd going.

Similarly the Baldock tributes were pitched exactly right against Stoke.

I think he’s just a fan and it was an honest tribute, I offer plenty of criticism of Garyoke but when he’s not there the alternative is always far worse.
