With Luton losing and us now 5th it means that there is a real possibility that us and Boro are 5th and 6th and could both get to Wembley.

That would be one weird fucking day - but if you were Wilder it must do your head in. We’re all Blades - but imagine being a Blade all your life at a Blades game knowing a win would take them to the Prem and wanting them to lose.

I suppose you could look at it another way though and he would be in a win-win scenario.

I don’t think I could cope!

He would want one outcome only and if we scored it would be guttering for him.
If he had tried to treat us with respect as fans first time back at Lane he'd be higher up in my estimation instead he slinked off with his tail between his leg.
Much like he snook off threw back door infact. Fuck him

Wilder has been in professional football for 40 years. He'll have no second thoughts or mixed feelings

I'd love us to get to that point.

I'd honestly say that we are a better team than Middlesborough.

They can't decide on their best keeper. Clearly this is something Wilder is already linked in the press to addressing.

I don't think their midfield is anywhere near the same calibre as ours and I don't think they have anyone who comes close to Gibbs-White in the final third. They don't have a Billy equivalent either if he makes it.

Central defensively I'd say there are similarities though most of ours spent the past 2 seasons at the top table whilst theirs didn't. They are marginally better at right wing back than us, probably no better at left wing back.

The harder challenges would be negotiating this weekend and then passing third or 4th in the semis.

Ironically Boro did the double over Forest this season under Warnock and Wilder so if there is a team to knock them out then it is Boro!

Either way, at least it won't be Wilder v United over 2 legs. That might be too much to take!

It's that odd thing with sports people, for some reason they often feel extra incentivised to beat the team they supported or were part of.

I'm not really bothered anymore. He brought us some good times, but he also brought us some bloody awful ones too. I like the idea of beating his team at Wembley, but to be honest, I quite like the idea of the other playoff contenders beating his team too, which is sad for Boro, but I just think Wilder is an arse now following his "performance" in 2020/21, and his unwillingness to take any responsibility for the car crash which he created.
If the unthinkable happens, we get into the playoffs and win them, that will be an enormous achievement by a thoughtful and decent bloke, who inherited the total mess created by Wilder and his successor. Getting us to where we are now from where we were 7 months ago is pretty good, and I'll take that!!

I would really love to see Billy smash in a last minute winner, then run half the lengrh of the pitch to slide on his knees in front of Wilder, while he (Billy) kisses the badge on his chest and shouts "I'm a FUCKING Blade, fuck off" at the Middlesborough manager.
Billy`s knees have had enough hammer from , 20 years of Brutal centre halfs .

I really think wilder is to career driven to give a toss about hurting us to be honest

Sideways move to Boro. His career hasn't exactly taken off since the pre-prem "glory days". I remember that for a while Phil Brown was very much flavour of the month. He's managing Barrow now. Hmmm.

Slating owners in public isn’t exactly the best idea of putting yourself in the shop window for future jobs.Hence boro the best he could do.

Still more chance of us missing out than Luton IMO.

Luton at home to Reading
The bookies don’t see it that way

Us 1/6
Luton 2/9
Boro 5/2

I don’t feel very confident either. I’m taking comfort in the fact that our performance at Stoke after promotion in 2019 was clearly celebration influenced and I’m hoping Fulham’s will be similar.

It's his job, his career, his reputation, and what he's being paid to do right now. Wouldn't do his head in at all to beat us, would be more weird if it did.

That's just standard bookies, it's in both ours and Lutons hands, so we're odds on.

Luton should beat Reading at home.
Fulham could roll over, or they could hammer us.

Preston are a weird team. Let's hope they spoil Boros party
