The latest transfer speculation involving Hull City sees the Tigers linked with an ex-Premiership forward. Step forward Sheffield United's Danny Webber. Could the Blades striker be the first official addition to the squad this summer?
Hull City are allegedly interested in signing ex-Premiership striker Danny Webber from relegated Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United. Webber was inspirational taking the Blades into English football's top tier when bagging 10 goals for the South Yorkshire club back in the 2005-06 season.
During last season's Premiership campaign, the former Manchester United trainee featured in 22 matches scoring 3 times. Webber signed for the Blades from Watford in 2005 after a successful loan spell at Brammall Lane. The deal brokered at that time cost ex-manager Neil Warnock, £500,000.
It is thought that new Sheffield United boss Bryan Robson is keen to trim the squad he's inherited and bring new funds in. With the Blades top heavy on strikers courtesy of Robson's predecessor, then speculation linking Danny Webber to the Tigers may not be too far from the mark.
£1.2mil and they can have him.
