This BBC forecast is way out of line with other forecasters. Google and the Met Office have forecast much milder temperatures. Judging by the "Sheffield Weather Page" site run out of Millhouses, it's currently - 0.8°c on the live temperature gauge. It could well drop another 5°c but I doubt it will hit minus double figures. There's still a definite threat of the game being called off though if the pavements are icy.

My app is saying -2 right now but could go down to -6.

I think you might be right, it could be a smidge milder than predicted. It is still going to be icy though.

It's not wishful thinking. I'd love the game to be on. We've been here before with last minute postpoments, that's all. I'm sure it will be fine for most people who are careful.

It's not Amey. It's MFG. Most of whom are shipped in daily from Derby and the surrounding area on a sub contract. Amey only supply the grit wagon drivers.

My phone's saying -8 for Handsworth .......... does feel a tad chilly and our road looks like a glacier.

Met office saying 0 at 8:00am rising to 3-4 through the day, not like the BBC to exaggerate though is it.

It is ridiculous these days when games get called off because of snow and ice around the grounds. What did we do for the previous 100 years ???

I remember ours once being called off but a sky fixture in the PL going ahead despite identical concerns.
