I didn't really expect anything more given the players out.

We're paying a huge price for not getting the players in we needed in summer.

Our first XI is good, but after that we're scrabbling around a bit. They've all been playing out of their skins. As soon as we lost Coutts, it weakened the team a lot as a unit. It's no reflection on Lundstram, but they were so used to playing as a team, that when someone's form dips or a player is out, everyone looks a bit poorer.

January can't come soon enough.

Well we were and still are trying to play hard ball signing Leonard.

If he does not sign in January after all this time and effort then our approach to transfers needs to change.

Ive not passed comment on lundstram efore today but he will never make a championship midfielder

He's too slow ,his passing is awful He puts himself under pressure by trying to play out of tight spots when he isn't good enough to do that and he gets took out of the game defensively by not seeing danger quick enough

I thought when Coutts was injured, that if Lundstram is still in the team after January we won't make the play-offs.

So total has our collapse been that we may not make the top half.

We wouldn't have got away with that midfield in most games last season so no chance in this league. I imagine Duffy will be back next week but without Fleck I still think we will struggle with the 3-5-2

I said before today that 3 points out of our next 3 games would be miraculous.

Villa Away - unless everyone is playing at 120%, and we get a bit of luck, then I can't see us getting anything.
Sunderland have just won a home game so we're going to play them at the wrong time.

The one plus is that Regan Slater made his debut and looked ok.

Spot on. Our first 11 is more than enough, so all is well until you start getting injuries, as we are now finding out. Sell on fee money should have been spent on increasing squad depth.

Sean the Blade on RS. 'I don't want to single out individual players ......(but) Lundstram is not first team material'.

Pressure will be off Carlos this weekend.

As I said in the shoutbox, there's every chance we get weaker rather than stronger in the transfer window.

What have these last few weeks shown, if not the fact that we have players capable of challenging for promotion but not the squad? So some of our erstwhile promotion rivals might try to cherry pick our better players, who might themselves think they have a better shot of going up by moving. It's happened to us before.

Really grim against a powerful difficult-to-play-against side, difficult to pick out any positives at all. But understandable.

Just shows how fortune smiled on us last season injury-wise (& re: suspensions, & re: worldies scored against us). It's done the bloody opposite this season.

he doesn't attack space.. his style of play is stop .. dead.. attempt hollywood pass.. fail.

Any team would struggle without arguably their 3 best players but our back ups to these players are so far off their quality that upgrades simply have to be brought in.

Our midfield got totally outplayed today. Carruthers was a passenger and Lundstram not much better - he has done ok in recent games but fact remains since he came in we look a much poorer side. Neither look Championship level and sadly our strategy of not signing quality Champ players to add competition is coming back to haunt us. That what makes the obsession with Leonard odd. We should be aiming much higher now.

we mightve been average today. but i knew going into Preston it was going to be tough. me like many others are spot on when we are missing coutts fleck duffy & brooks. what are we supposed to do. we were basically going into today with a 2nd string midfield. also not taking our chances v Birmingham & Bristol city have cost us as that should be 6pts we dominated both got only 1pt

if you take the 4 most influential players of out any of the other 91 team football league. teams will struggle even Barca you take suarez Messi rakitic & iniesta. they would struggle. we need january badly, as its been a long while since we had since full team to pick fromwith current midfield problems & last week was 1st time in a month. we werent shoehorning a cb at wb

I think you can get away with playing one of the three we had in midfield today but all three together was only going to end one way. I can't see what else we could have done really but it should open a few eyes about how poor the squad is in terms of depth.

I heard commentators yesterday sympathising with the pork for their "injury crisis". But they still had a first eleven playing who cost £24million and a bench costing £8million.

Did you say that last week when he was the best player on the pitch?

I noticed a lot of comments praising him after the game and just assumed it was people tying to get behind the lad as he was bang average in that game too
