Yeah it must've been a snippet from that then. There was an interview last night during Football Heaven where Wilder mentioned those players.

I tried to tell you at the time you don't know what you've got till you've lost itSadly, Helios doesn't even make the top ten these days.

Exactly !And he did score that goal against Leeds.
I'm not familiar with either player, but I trust in Wilder's judgement. Isn't that how it's meant to work? We employ a 'specialist', he surrounds himself with other 'specialists', together they're meant to understand their area of specialisation, football and it's supporting framework. Managers live or die by the players they buy, we all know the risks involved and the fine line between being able to judge who will do a job for the club and who's to be avoided.......well, there's the rub. You look at Woolford or Hammond, both players underwhelmed and contributed to our inability to succeed, whereas Sharpe's contribution was met with universal approval.
Wilder arrived with a 'feel-good' factor, and seems to be delivering on that promise. It may not be quick enough for those supporters whose impatience is always on a short fuse, but for what it's worth my instincts suggest he'll make a better job of managing this club than recent incumbents. Asking for time isn't the responsibility of any manager. Wilder understands the needs of the club and supporters, remaining in this division simply isn't an option. The thing is, it might take longer than one season. It grates me to say that but it could be the truth. The fact that CW has wasted no time in identifying who should stay and who needs to leave is the surest indicator that Wilder has his finger on the pulse of what's needed to move this club forward. Give the guy the backing he needs and deserves, we'll all benefit from supporting our manager. UTB.
I heard this news on the jungle telegraph this morning Wilder wanted em.
