We need to talk about Sydie Peck

I actually think Peck looks better in more forward positions as opposed to being a defensive midfielder.
He’s certainly not the type who can successfully there on his own for any prolonged period.

He’s only 20, very inexperienced and didn’t expect to play the amount of games at the top of the divisions that he did last year so have to cut him some slack.

I agree , Peck is a combative player and a bit of a risk taker which is useful at one end of the pitch but can be a liability at the other.

Didn't have Peck on my scapegoat list tbh. Suppose with RND and Robinson probably going we need one urgently.

He will need dipping in and out as he's had less than a year playing senior football. We would have done that last year but we were really short of numbers and he was playing so well he played lots more football than he should have. He was brilliant last season when we desperately needed him he stepped up.

I think with Peck, its fair to say he's not been right this season, but its also easy to forget he's a 20 year lad plying his trade away from home and family, and with Wilder being sacked had a father type figure taken away, a very difficult situation to get your head around.

I've been through a company restructure in my late 20's where a boss I'd run through brick walls through was unceremoniously turfed out and it left me pissed off at the organisation and it took some time to get my head round it and crack on (some deal with it better than others), but it's a learning situation and he'll get through it and be all the better for it, and hopefully thats what Wilder has said to him.

Peck performed well last season. He hasn't suddenly become a bad player, but we should have a big enough squad to give him a break from the starting line up.

Everyone has a run of bad form. He'll come good again, as long as we don't scapegoat him.

Might be in a minority, but thought Peck was fine today. The others were abysmal though. Every pass seemed to be met with a heavy touch and absolutely no idea what to do with the ball when they did finally get it under control. Was like half the side were playing with a power ball all afternoon.

Peck has cost us for the goal in the last 2. He’s responsible for Hamer being all over the shop.

He missed a couple of sitters vs Bristol City.

Why’s he starting?

Hamer being all over the shop is down to Hamer and the manager, but of course we can't accuse Gus of not performing can we? He had a run in the first half to close the keeper down and one in the second half running at the full back. He does that to give the impression that he's at it when generally, he's a pretty lazy player.

So you would play with no genuine midfield player. Peck was flanked by O'Hare and Hamer. He doesn't stand a chance.
Most of the morons in this thread probably would.

Anyone who thinks Peck is one of our current issues really has outed themselves as a Playstation manager and not got the foggiest.

Insufferable know it alls. So giddy with excitement over Wilder going they need a new target now they look stupid. Embarrassing the ones in ground having a go at him. Deserve all we get with "supporters" like this

Feel really sorry for him. It's his first full season and a manager out of his depth is asking him to play a role the live child of Declan Rice and Pirlo would struggle with...

Yet the morons keep blaming him.

Yes he's playing poorly, but anyone with a pair of eyes and an IQ over 10 can see it's the system/structure that are responsible.
