In regards to the defence it is a tricky one.
The stats show we have had 126 shots on target against us this season (3.41 per game), Bolton are the best in the league with 121 shots on target against them but less games with an average of 3.36
The best team in England Chelsea have had 74 (2.85 per game). So defensively we aren't having a lot of shots on our goal, the issue is the shots are going in.
In terms of people mentioning pace, for a back 3 we are fairly mobile, Basham and O'Connell are as mobile as any defenders in this league. You look at the division above and compare the pigs for Example Loovens/Sasso/Lees aren't as mobile and quick as our defenders. So I do not see pace being an issue.
SUFC staff will have more stats in front of them such as where at the goals coming from etc, like on Tuesday both from 20+ yards so is this the midfield fault? or should someone come out and close them down?
The thread of this title saying we need a brand new defence is one that's unfair. Yes if we go up of course we will try to get better players in, that will be the same all over the park.
