I don't think the OP and others were questioning rumours but the player suggestion tab which just allows people to pick a player name and post it. Now as SwissBlade suggested this may be no different to the rumours posted from certain sources, but can just about constitute a rumour.

When you say, "we'd asked about Will Grigg", was it, "How's Will getting on thesedays, wife and family ok?" or was it, "We're interested in buying him, how much do you want for him?"

I hope it's the latter. I think he's a bloody good finisher is Will Grigg. Since he joined Wigan his goal scoring record is almost a goal every other game. He's a bit like our Billy - an instinctive box player - but he's a lot younger (26).

Are we BIG enough to go take the best striker from lickle Wigan - I'd like to think so, because despite all their recent millions I cannot get it out of my head that Wigan are a non-league club, who emerged into the 4th division a few years ago, had one of the crappest grounds I've ever been to, and had ex Liverpool centre half, Larry Lloyd, propping up their defence and dropping his shorts to show his arse to our kop. I cannot take them seriously, I'm sorry. I think we should squash them like a fly.

Same with Bournemouth an' all. I read today that they are still sniffing around Brooks, despite the fact he's on a 4 year contract (not that it makes one iota of difference anyhow in terms of a deterrent). It makes my blood boil and I think I'll blow a blood vessel if we sell one of our best players to a team like Bournemouth! Bourne-bloody-mouth! WTF! Yes, I know they are in the Premiership - God knows how they are managing to stay there - it's an act of defying gravity that will not last much longer imo. They are a 3rd division club. They've only ever had one good player in their history - Ted McDougall. They have absolutely no right to come knocking on our door looking at our players. We should squash them like a fly an' all!

Back to the thread title...very true... well over a month after the season finished and less than 8 weeks until the window closes and hardly any credible rumours at all.

The main rumours are all pretty obvious like Blackman and Egan with Hogan and the young Chelsea lad other credible links.

My God, I nearly fell off me Raleigh Chopper when I heard John Harris had bought Jim Bone from Norwich. It was such a surprise! I'd like that feeling again - and I think I will be getting it soon.

In fact, I can not say too much but...

Towards the end of this week I will be taking the stabilisers off my Raleigh Chopper and expect something similar to happen.
