Quote from Adkins re last season. Sums it up for me.

"For a start we wanted to give every player the chance to show what they can do" - Adkins.

That's where we are at. Spot on where we should be.

Another sneaky side swipe at his predecessor from WWF, followed by yet more sneaky side swipes. The way you cling on I'm going to start calling you the limpit. Let it go limpit, let it go.

This anti-Clough bollocks is becoming really stupid now and completely destroying certain posters credibility. Move the fuck on FFS!

Just showing people up for what they are Flatters. More important to prove your point and look back than look forward with optimism apparently.

Why not just a statement that they hate doing fitness drills? Why does it have to be a dig as the last guy and a positive about the new one?
It's just a throwaway totally understandable comment, no subtext.

Total coincidence. If you read that into it that's what you believe.

Que?

Why don't folk realise that Clough is history and it's time to move on. He's not in my mind I assure you, it's all about the future.

This thread is about where we are now. Taking stock, eliminating weaknesses in the squad, Billy Sharp and training with footballs. What's that to do with Clough?

Why a sneaky side swipe by me? It was Adkins who said it and it's totally relevant and in no way would he have a go at Clough, why would he need to?

Thought I should repeat the OP because there are some misinterpretations!!:)

In all the interviews I've heard of Adkins so far, he talks a lot, but says absolutely nothing of import. And I'm absolutely fine with that. As long as the results are good on the pitch I don't give a shit what he says.

I do hope there's not a new thread stated every time he does an interview otherwise it will be tedious to say the least...

It's what you said, you made the link to what they were used to. So it's just a continuation of your bullshit which seems to run through everything you post at some level or another.

Indeed. Having started the last one I realised after posting that v little of interest was actually said. Though to be fair, this is the time of year where there is virtually no news.

Precisely and back to the OP, the manager is assessing his squad and letting his squad see that they all have the chance to be a part of things - before he brings fresh resource in.

Everyone needs to be patient - that's the main message.

Yeah, and obviously it's especially noticeable in a non -euro/World Cup year.

What an important message to the players, that's the point. Obviously different to what they were used to and it is a ball game of skill after all.
Definitely, also new Nige will most likely want to see the ability of his squad as soon as possible to see what he's got to work with (and where he needs to strengthen)
