First off, I wanted Wilder out, but after the Selles debacle I was definitely of the opinion Wilder needed to be brought back - at least to clean up the mess.

A regular, recurring theme under Wilder, as we all know, we cannot hold on to a lead. Our issues seems to be with handling the shifting momentum during a game. Look at the play offs final. Took an early lead, sat back and allowed momentum to shift. This has happened on numerous occasions, for whatever reason, we simply find it impossible to manage a game to the end.

Every time we take the lead as soon as we concede - whether that be to make it 1-1 or 3-1 to us, you can visually see the heads drop and the players slowly allowing momentum to shift.

This needs sorting. Calls already for Wilder out are frankly ridiculous, but he needs to get this right.

This and he really needs to get us fit enough to play 100 minutes without having to take our best players off and/or the rest of the starting XI looking like a scene from Nam in the final 20 mins

Correct, the minimum you expect from your team is that they compete for 90+ minutes. It really is the bare minimum and we aren't doing it.

I’m don’t think the momentum shifted last night, both our goals came from breaks / moments of brilliance from individual players, then we reverted to type.

For me, it’s not about heads dropping or momentum, but understanding a simple statement:

We don’t have good enough players to defend a lead, so pick a different tactic.

This has been the case since we lost Souttar, is glaringly obvious and has never been addressed.

Selles was trying something different, so now we have players positioned even further from that original issue, and we’re trying to squeeze triangles into square moulds to put in circular holes.

Play a different way that gets the best out of your players current skill sets.

We just need to keep going and trying to score more goals. This side can't possibly hold a clean sheet, but it HAS got players who can score goals especially on the counter if they have license and freedom to do so.

It’s very noticeable that when we lead a game and then drop into the ‘let’s not lose’ mindset, the lack of leadership on the field is glaringly obvious. Dropping back and letting the opposition attack us is a worrying trait we’ve had for a couple of seasons now and I can’t see it changing anytime soon.

As many have said, 6 points from the last 3 games is acceptable, albeit with last night’s result being a big worry.

I don’t think it’s that big a worry though. This is what the season is going to be like, but we’ll scrape enough wins to stay up fairly comfortably.

Then, in the summer, we need a proper reset, to include getting the next manager appointment right.

Agree about the up and down season. It’s your last sentence which we, as a club, constantly screw up.
