What's Kevin Blackwell doing at the moment?
He's Warnock's little bitch at Cardiff.
"Assistant Manager," that is.

But he got us to the play-offs with his football that was designed to 'win points'
Only trouble was, nobody really enjoyed watching it, despite being happy accumulating the points
He inherited the most expensively assembled squad in the clubs entire history. But he got us to the play-offs with his football that was designed to 'win points'

Teams like us and Brentford are great to watch and easy on the eye. However we did not create a single clear chance in the box from open play last night. Same previous game. That's 180 minutes and not one clear chance in open play.
We are a joy to watch but in a fair few games actually never look like scoring despite all the great play. Derby away we were tremendous outside the box but other than Bash scoring we did not create much.
To get on the top 6 we have to address this. Whether by getting some pace so we can break quicker...get it forward quicker and then let our football take over....or by crossing the ball more rather than taking the extra pass as lovely as it looks.
No we aren't. I further reckon we won't make the play-offs.
On our day, maybe. But it isn't our day often enough.

We’re in danger of becoming the Herol ‘Bomber’ Graham of the championship.
Plenty of pundits reckon so.
Plenty of oppos managers as well.
So do I.
If only we could have converted our utter dominance of sides in to a few more points we could be clear and comfy at the top.
But we are on the right path.
In Tufty (and Knill) I trust

This is the best football I’ve ever seen at the lane the passing and movement is a joy to watch .We miss that cutting edge sometimes and don’t worry defenders with first time crosses . What I’ve also notice is how often
We recycle the ball most teams lump it when nothings on we go back and start again as per our pass stats.
If wilder gets the required personnel in jan we will piss the league we have a style and an identity most teams could only dream of something I thought was impossible 2 years ago long may it continue utb
[/QUOTE]Michael Brown said on TV last night that United are better than teams in the Premiership although ne didn't say which ones.

Agree with much of this but we did create a chance leading to them giving away the penalty. How different would all this discussion be if we had scored and changed the shape of the remaining 75 min. A lot of comments about being too patient and not shooting enough. Reckon Pro players often resist the moronic shooooooot becuase they know that to win games you need to create a high probability scoring chances instead of just giving up possession that could lead to that chance and a goal kick to opponentsTeams like us and Brentford are great to watch and easy on the eye. And 1 in 15 is relegation winning formYep, 5 points from 5 games isn't promotion winning form.
British and European champions?

Agree and I'd rather have a few more and earlier efforts on goal and win ugly than all this pretty to watch ineffective stuff. Its like watching Strictly where we get lots of 8's and 9's but ultimately it probably won't count for much nor be remembered a few months from now if we continue like this game after game.
This thread and its title make me squirm with discomfort, its like something on pork talk and its results what count not prettiness.
I just hope we don't have such complacency amongst those running the club and they believe in continuous improvement and as Deadbat usually points out the areas for improvement are crystal clear.
Personally I think we could do a lot better with the squad we already have by playing more threateningly and positively and quicker and having a plan in the final third instead of all this unproductive recycling and going backwards when in good positions or the flashing cross too near the keeper. Working on the weaknesses of our current players like JOC heading the ball over their bar once or twice every game could help a lot. Norwood being the only one who predictably takes free kicks thus making it easy for their defense and keeper to know whats coming.
I find where we are now great progress but intensely frustrating. So near but yet so far and yet the same approach each game.
Not sure I agree there Vic.I believe that football is still meant to be Entertainment, & on that basis I would probably agree most weeks, even if the results do not always reflect that.
Entertaining football, and winning football are inextricably linked. Not sure I agree there Vic.
For me, sport is about winning.
When we are there being entertained, it needs to be with an end in mind, that of winning games, which means being better at that than the oppo.
I seem to remember a commentator once saying something along the lines of, "Geordies would rather see an entertaining 3-3 draw than a boring 1-0 win"
I thought then that was b*****ks and think it still is now.
We lost 5-4 at home to Fulham last season in a very entertaining game, one in which I would have preferred to have ground out a scrappy 1-0 win!
Good lad. Automatics it is thenI further reckon we won't make the play-offs.
How pathetic that them cunts get the first clean sheet away to us.Hey, first clean sheet this season, it wer wonderful.![]()
Have a good cry - you'll feel better afterwardsHow pathetic that them cunts get the first clean sheet away to us.
Fucking pathetic.
Entertaining football, and winning football are inextricably linked.
You win to entertain and you entertain to win.
The two are HIGHLY correlated.
The good news is, under Wilder, we do more than our fair share of both

Yes.Stop using big words I don't understand DB
Do you agree with me or not?![]()
