Yep. It's feast or famine on here.Woohoo! We’re back to being a playoff team again!
Give it another week and we’ll be going down.![]()
Which bottom 3 cos norwich was one of the better sides I’ve seen at the lane this seasonIf we strengthen in January who knows? And I mean strengthen unlike last January when we were weaker in the second half of the season. Although losing Souttar was a big factor. It's a weak division. I don't even rate Coventry. Outside the bottom three there's not much difference between any of the sides.
They were abysmal. Far from best thats come to lane this season. And that was against a team that had 8 changes? And illness ripped through the squad.Which bottom 3 cos norwich was one of the better sides I’ve seen at the lane this season![]()
Quietly been the biggest win of the night, the other results.Just to help us Norwich and Oxford both lost which takes some of the pressure off or does it keep us focused on the play offs? Answers on fax machine paper
Unfortunately there doesn’t seem much to suggest 6th will be a lower than average points finish this season.I can imagine 6th being as low as 69 or something like that, such is the inconsistency of the play Off teams right now.
All about opinions mateThey were abysmal. Far from best thats come to lane this season. And that was against a team that had 8 changes? And illness ripped through the squad.
Yes they had a few out too. But it would have been a cricket score if we had our starting 11 (from previous 5 games) starting.
Oh yes we are.For the past few weeks I’ve been swaying between us sneaking into the Play Offs or falling short.
As we’re half way through the season I’ve just had a quick look at what points we might realistically reach and where that would put us.
Obviously Coventry are storming the league but if we look at Middlesbrough 2nd with 43 points and Ipswich 3rd with 38 points, I think we can agree a second half haul of 40 points would be a cracking effort.
That, combined with our current total of 26 points, would put us on 66 points.
Unfortunately, history shows us that in the last 10 seasons, that amount would not get us into 6th spot. Last season was the closest where Bristol City finished on 68 points but most seasons you need to be well into the 70’s.
I’m now at the point where I’m just going to enjoy the highs and lows of the next 23 games and hopefully see a rebuild to allow us to see a better attempt at promotion next year.
AND….AND…. Your point is what???? Oh fuck.Unfortunately there doesn’t seem much to suggest 6th will be a lower than average points finish this season.
Watford in 6th are on 38 points.
For the last 4 or 5 years, the 6th place team after match 24 have been on 36 points; in 2020 I think it was 40 points.
I wouldn’t expect fewer than about 74 points being needed for 6th, which requires us to be the best or second best team in the league for the rest of the season.
Yeah this is the reality - from what we’ve seen of this lot mentality wise it’s probably for the best anywayWe'll finish mid-table (imo).
Not going down and never threatening the play-offs. Another Steel City Derby win at BDTBL will be the highlight.
We really aren't all that good.

Wilder would be a miracle worker if he can get those results from 22 gamesAgain, it would be an unbelievable feat for us to achieve. But we need summat like 12 more victories plus 6 draws and cough up just 5 losses out of the remaining 22 games just to make 42 points to add to the 29 we have, to give us 71 points. Given our inconsistent form and our ability to fold at the wrong time, I can't see us not losing 5 or less games and we don't really draw matches. Plus, playoffs is a killing ground for us. Last season - we smashed Bristol City over both legs and died in the final after having a goal chalked off. And there is nothing about any player we have at the moment that says 'Premiership Ready'.
i agree with you outside chance of top 6 this season depending on january's window but more likely of a mid table finish then good recruitment in the summer and we have to go for it next seasonYeah this is the reality - from what we’ve seen of this lot mentality wise it’s probably for the best anyway
Next season will be the one. Mark my words.
What about operating on £40m less next season gives you confidence that we'll improve though? It's a massive challenge to tread water nevermind improvei agree with you outside chance of top 6 this season depending on january's window but more likely of a mid table finish then good recruitment in the summer and we have to go for it next season
Yeah but Wilder is a miracle worker.Wilder would be a miracle worker if he can get those results from 22 games![]()
