One way of placating CW and the fans and ensuring we enter the summer in a decent position would be for the board to sanction the signing of one of the management's teams top targets this summer.

Its been reported that CW has already presented his list of targets to the board. Given the legals of the ownership battle are likely to take a while to sort out and it's in.neither party's interest to lose the manager why not both throw in some money and get one of his targets signed ?

Can't remember when the window opens but it would show some intent and quieten the rumours down. I don't buy the rumour that if the Prince wins he'll get rid of CW as that's a sure fire way of alienating his entire customer base so it would be in his interests to do this too.

If his top target is £3m, who funds that without a sale? Fees like that are usually spread over 18mths etc. Long term commitment if there's a chance you will have left by then. Also can't see either of them funding any loans to the club

If it's his club he'll do what he wants. Remember he comes from the USA ownership model which is "fuck you fans, there is a better option and fan base in LA than Oakland". Didn't stop McCabe appointing Danny Wilson when he probably knew it would alienate the fan base.

Board, what board. What do they actually do. Mcabe or princey puts x amount of money in, the other is supposed to match it. They, as far as I know make joint decisions on everything, from funding to pay structure, or at least the final decision.
What does the board actually do. Someone will be along to tell us, I hope.

Spoke to someone yesterday who had cause to have a meeting (business not the football side as such) with some board members, and he said the friction was obvious.

No Prince there naturally and I won't name names or why he was there specifically but he said certain people blanked each other and he found it uncomfortable.

It’s like my wife saying to me that she’s fucking me off after this nice weather has passed and moving on to someone better than me (which isn’t hard :) ) then me saying that’s fine, I’ll get you that nice car, loads of clobber and some nice expensive Jewellery before you leave?

Sorry love, It’s not happening! :)

There will be no spending sanctioned until the ownership is sorted. Anyone who’s ever worked in an organisation subject to a takeover knows major decisions are deferred.

Going back to Peters Pies then. Shit.

They do what they're told. Full stop.

Seen conflicting reports as to when window opens - some say May 17, others June 9

Providing a budget for summer spending is not a major decision of the type you infer. It is routine business to provide it.

A big variation on previous years would be a 'major decision'.

Whichever owner is really going for full control will be keen not to set the club back with an unproductive summer recruitment.

If the current manager is not wanted then the timing could not be worse because any new appointment will have to wait until negotiations are concluded.

Fuckin £3m. Wilder wants to get to the Premiership. Are you a relative of McCabe?

"Whichever owner going for full control?"

A little bird sent a gloating PM to me early February saying they had been correct in that the Prince was taking over.

Firstly we aren't subject to a takeover. Secondly most organisations 'subject to a takeover' continue with business as usual as many takeover attempts fail and directors of a business do not run it on the basis they might be taken over.

If only you’d got her that nice car, loads of clobber and some nice expensive jewellery beforehand she might not be leaving. That’s the painful bit. Good analogy!

Been through many of these takeovers and mergers. What actually happens is the business comes to a grinding halt till everything is completed. People disengage and projects are stopped. It usually sets the company back in the short term.

Hopefully it’s not like that but I wouldn’t expect any positive signs of investment until it’s resolved.

Cerberus it isn't a takeover or merger it is the 2 majority shareholders fighting for control. One of them will still be running the business at its conclusion and if the business has lost its most important employee not only will it be in a worse position it will have a very unhappy customer base.

I just don't get why Sainsbury's would go for another supermarket when they haven't got a football club yet.

I agree with what you say if it results in Wilder going. But It’s the same analogy though Frieth.

My view is we will have a completely different set of owners to either of them in the near future.

McCabe wants out - has done for years - and he thought he’d found the right suitor in the Prince. I think he realises now he hasn’t - but creating a situation where they can agree to sell on to someone else is the stumbling block.

I think McCabe wants the best for us. But he’s created another hole to dig himself out of.
