If they beat Charlton at home today, they go 2 points behind us with a game in hand.
Then if we dont win on Tuesday they are in the driving seat.

Yep, I pointed this out to a few piggies, they just laughed at me when I said i'm more worried about Huddersfield than Wednesday!

No they don't. It's still in our hands whatever they do today, they are only 1 game behind us.

We'll be level games played with Huddersfield after today, or do you mean they play again before we do ?

they will be on the same number of games and two points behind.

MK Dons aren't out of this either as they play 2 games before we play again

(We are playing on Wednesday by the way)

I hope they beat charlton I still think we could catch them

No they are not. Of the teams currently below us that are likely to overtake us Wednesday and MK are the only ones doing better than their average over the season. For what it's worth at the current time most teams are doing worse, including Utd, which indicates perhaps the pressure has got to them a little.

Ironically Weds draw with Walsall improved their current form, the only team currently exceeding two points a game over the last six, but at 125% better than their season's average are they likely to keep that up? If they lose at Orient today I think the answer is no.

A win for Huddersfield today is highly desirable as it makes Charlton more catcheable. Town's record over the season and current 6 game form suggests along with Stevenage they draw too many games. Interesting times...

I've have been saying all along that Huddersfield are the main challengers for ages. However, they have a difficult run in. Charlton at home today, a trip to Carlisle next Saturday, Leyton Orient away is their game in hand and then they have the Pigs at home. They could be out of it in early April. If they do it, they will do it the hard way!

The important point here is that most of the top teams have got to play each other over the next week or two. So if one wins the other goes backwards. If they draw they both go backwards.
I realise we have Stevenage and MK Dons, but rather them than the other main contenders. And we play 3 out of the bottom 4 before the end of the season. Promotion really is ours for the taking.

I think both of these are tough especially MK Dons. There is a lot of water to flow yet and wins over Hartlepool, Bomo, Rochdale and Orient are key. Often in the past Utd have struggled against teams such as these, putting themselves under real pressure for the even bigger games. This run of 4 are our so called easy ones. We must get 12 points from that lot.

Living in exile as I do in Huddersfield I am going this afternoon. I went to watch them against Rochdale and it was difficult to tell who was top and who was bottom. Town were very poor. Their fans dont expect them to do very well for rest of the season. A lot think they will have all on staying in playoff spots.
I will report back later.

We just need to win our games and the we don't need to worry about any one else.

You are like me BladeFisher, seen it all before.
You are correct in that we can often make heavy work of beating teams in the lower half of the league.
However I am encouraged by the return of McDonald and from what we have been told the blistering pace of O'Halloran, both in a wide position and down the middle.
We must trust in Danny Wilson, the saving on Monty's quoted £12000 per week has been put to good use imho.
I am sure that we have a squad strong enough to secure second place, but would not like to forecast that it will happen.
Anything can happen in the game and it will probably go to the final games.
I am however feeling reasonable confident that Danny and the lads will succeed.

yer daft fookers ............................... were going up ......these are the happy times

True. The deluded ones claiming second as theirs now. The only sure thing in football is if we win the rest of our games we cant be caught. Unless they are allowed to play 47 games

Some one has nicked my thread. Watch out for Huddersfield Cont. Why not just continue on this thread. Or try to gain attention by starting another.

What he said!
And they did beat Charlton. We can be champions!

Not sure we will catch Charlton.

Although Huddersfield I fear more than Wednesday and have done all season.

When Wednesday mess up they lose but when Huddersfield bugger up they still walk away with a point at least.

Dunno, Wednesday caught us from a bigger gap than we had. There's no doubt that they're having a wobble... Lets see what happens tomorrow...
