Watch out Burnley are coming

They have been around the whole time....their defence is even meaner than ours

I think we're better than Burnley myself but they're a decent side I agree. They've put together a little run but nothing that massively worries me.

The biggest ace we hold over Burnley is Scott Parker

I'm seeing this sentiment crop up alot.

Been in management about 5 years, achieved 2 promotions. Apart from his poor record at PL level and mildly Brent-ish post match interviews, why are people dismissive of Scott Parker?

Concentrate on us. Continue picking up points the way we have & nobody will catch us.

You say that, but he's managed to get Fulham & Bournemouth promoted.

I don't think he's as bad as many make out. He has Burnley very well organised and they've got really strong squad depth.

I'd be surprised if they fell away from the automatic battle.

No one appreciates beige chinos and roll neck sweaters anymore, criminal really.

You’re right that Burnley are a bigger threat than Sunderland, but you’re wrong about “less goals”. Write 100 times: “Fewer goals”.
Burnley are quite similar to United, concede very few goals but don't freely score loads of goals, whilst Leeds are very creative and attack minded, but are prone to conceding quite easily. Which is the best formula for promotion?

I don’t know about you but I’ve had my eyes on Leeds and Sunderland but there’s been a quiet revolution going on at Burnley if you look at the league table they’ve conceded less goals than us. Could be a close Championship this season.
Yeah, just like Sunlan and Leeds.

This might change as the season progresses but I’ve not looked out for a single other team yet. What will be, will be. That last PL season was so painful that even though I know the state of our finances are strongly tied to promotion I could take it or leave it at this point. I’m just enjoying watching this young side do so well. If we end up getting promoted, fine. If we don’t, whatever.

It would be nice to play them on an even field this year without anyone doing anything stupid and getting sent off at their place.
I have been there the last two times when we had the sendings off and have sworn I will never go to Burnley again, so it might be that the curse is lifted if I don’t attend

Parker is one of the best managers in the championship don't get the negativity at all he has a proven track record for promotion

The prize for autos is so big that the battle at the top is bound to be relentless the whole season.
We know that our summer recruitment wasn't quite complete so to have overcome our shallow squad strength thus far has been very creditable.

However , compared to our nearest rivals , our need to improve the squad in January is greater than theirs.

It's concerning that we may be limited to 2 loans so these must not be wasted on fillers but carefully selected. first teamers.

You can bet that our rivals will also strengthen , given that they seem to have access to cash.

If the Prince stays , I hope he invests in the squad , but I'm not confident that he will.
1. He wants to sell + leave.
2. He's already experienced PL + two relegations , so knows it no bed of roses (claims it made him ill).

The buyers are looking at it with fresh untainted eyes and , seeing us at the top of the league , would surely be tempted to invest in January, to achieve what must be the only rational reason for acquiring us - promotion.

Let’s be fair though Captain. Stevie Wonder would get those two teams promoted with the players they had at their disposal.

He managed 2 promotions with 2 sides who should have pissed the division with the embarrassment of players he had at his disposal. Finished 4th with Fulham and very nearly bottled the play offs to Cardiff.

He’s been a very lucky boy with the sides he’s inherited IMO & it really masks his actual managerial ability.

We haven’t got a defence for WBA game!

TBH that’s a bit bedwetterish cause Gilchrist looked sound alongside JTL and Seriki was up there for MoM with Coops and TD. Burrows and McCallum are sound at lB

The makeshift back 4 did a very good job in the 2nd half last night. West Brom don't score much and like Sunderland are in a rut of drawing almost every game. I am fairly relaxed about containing them.

Plus Souttar hasn't looked right since he came back from the international break. The circumstances aren't ideal, but an extra day's rest might do him good to be honest.

All that being said, I will be glad when him and Anel are back, and on song.

Disagree.
Getting promoted out of this league is never a cake walk.

Also, you could argue he should piss it with Burnley this season.
They have the strongest squad and he has a track record of doing well with strong squads...

He tends to get jobs with very decent, attacking squads. He then turns them into boring, functional teams.
