Sheffield Utd boss Warnock rejects contract offer
tribalfooball.com - May 12, 2007

Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock has put off contract talks after turning down a new deal.

Warnock has revealed he was offered a new two-year deal a few weeks ago, but he rejected it because it was not what he was looking for.

"I've not agreed to sign a new contract," Warnock told The Times. "They offered me a two-year deal a couple of weeks ago and since it wasn't acceptable, we agreed to put it to one side until the end of the season.

"I said to Kevin McCabe [the club's plc chairman] we should get together after the final game.

"I expect to see him late next week. It's never been a massive issue for us."

Dosnt seem the offer was good enough for him.

Or he didn't want to commit to a two year contract?

Any reason why he rejected it is pure conjecture until we know the reason.

But people will make of it what they will to attempt to make it fit their point of view

Well it wasnt acceptable maybe he is holding out for a few more quid until we know we are up.

Or maybe it just wasn't acceptable because he wants to retire before the two years are up?

Or maybe the terms in the contract were too restrictive on other interests?

It doesn't always come down to money... and McCabe and Warnock didn't appear to be at all worried about it yesterday, quite happy in each other's company.

hope he doesnt sign clueless berk yeah hes done a good job building us into what we are now but hes a clueless berk get coleman in

Good, hope he doesnt sign.

McCabe isnt daft, he has seen neils tactics this season, even if he keeps us up I cant see how he can take us 'into europe'.

As much as I admire what Warnocks done for us, i think its time to change. Warnock probably would only have two seasons and a new, fresh approach would be the best way. If Neil stays and goes in a few year, the team would need a restructure to fit in with the new manager, better to do it now while our team will need adapting anyway.

this season has only been about colin instead of the blades he doesn't deserve a new contract, let him go and drive his tractor

he dosent deserve one. failing at his job to keep us up.

Kevin McCabe has just said that a contract offer wasn't actually made.

So no, it wasn't down to money!
