Warnock gets weirder looking as he gets older

Sorry if you think I have a 'hectoring tone' but that really should not be a reason to dismiss my arguments and decline to provide evidence supporting your claims

I haven't dismissed your arguments, I'm just not interested enough to spend hours digging to respond.

If you see what I've posted in this thread (and in my entire posting history) I haven't actually made any 'claims'. As I said, I have no proof, so would be silly to accusse him of anything.

Others have, so I suggest you search for these.

I'm not a full time Warnock-hater and have other stuff to do. If you really are that interested, search this site. From memory I seem to think there have a number of posts in the last 6 months from a few different posters.
You brought up these supposedly numerous other allegations of misconduct. The burden is on you to tell me what they are, not on me to search the forum. Which other players have accused Warnock of taking bungs?

Just to repeat, you said that the allegations are 'far more numerous' than a single deleted tweet from one person, which, you say, makes the 'rumours' far more credible.

You simply can't post stuff like that on a forum without being able to back it up with references to these alleged other allegations.

I've heard similar rumours from someone within football back when Neil was in charge, it was based on players appearance money and a little kickback he'd expect/arranged. As was pointed out at the time we did often make subs late on in a game, not in extra time trying to run the clock out.

You do know this is an internet forum and not a court of law, don't you?

There is no 'burden' on me.

Of course there is.

Otherwise I could just walk up to your friends and say "Coco is a nonce, it's a fact, someone said something once, no smoke without fire" and walk off.

When challenged by your friends to prove it, I could just say "well, there are lots of examples out there, but it's up to you to find them"

By your logic, you'd be OK with that

Who told you that? As I've mentioned before, you can't just make such serious allegations on a public forum without naming your source.

Incidentally, I reckon that there's a decent chance that in the old days some managers used to get a kickback from appearance money. But it's more likely to involve bringing a player on in the final minute with the game safe, as opposd to demanding that players pay to play in the first team.

I was also told the same about taking a share of appearance money about 14 years from a very good source regarding substitutions not starters. Was told that NW always made sure certain players come on as sub for the final minute so they receive their appearance bonus. At the time I noticed that he did seem to make injury time substitutions for no apparent reason.

However it’s usually best to take these things with a pinch of salt, it’s only rumour, so not worth much and probably wrong. Also there’s always the context of what might or might not have happened. Also nothing can be proven and certain events could be coincedence.

As far as I can tell, the only person who's ever made an allegartion is Puncheon, and that was in a heat of the moment Tweet after hearing Warnock slag him off on Talksport. No one on this forum's naming any other sources, they are just saying "I was told by a good source". But they aren't saying who that source is or where they got their info from - (most likely another "good source")

Perhaps Puncheon didn't experience anything first hand either, he was just repeating what he'd been told "by a good source"

A false rumour can easily snowball, especially in the age of the Internet. But there's not been one player who's come out and stated that they personally split their appearance money with NW or were asked to pay to play. He's been a manager since the 80's. Plenty of players will have a grudge against him, and plenty will have autobiographies out. Isn't it surprising that, if he's so crooked, none have come forward with allegations? I just looked up what Puncheon said - he never accused NW of demanding money from him to play - he simply repeated rumours similar to those that appear on here weekly.

Warnock's a pantomime villain and those who dislike him like to think he's crooked - but I repeat, there's no evidence whatsoever, and it really wouldn't be in his interests to do so. It's almost become part of football folklore - "Warnock's dodgy".

I have no doubt stuff went on, and still does, at lower league clubs - schemes related to tax avoidance and appearance money - but as a high profile, well paid manager in the PL and Championship, Warnock would have absolutely no reason to jeopardise his career in such a manner. For him to act in the way that some people are claiming -- demanding players pay him to get on the teamsheet - defies any logic.

Leon Knight?

Nope. Knight just shot his mouth off repeating "rumours" - he never claimed that Warnock had personally asked him for a bung etc. It's an even bet that Warnock's fallen out with quite a few players in his time, including Knight - and with so many enemies, it's likely that one or two will repeat things that they've "heard"

Incidentally, I think there's a term for a rumour that gathers such momentum that everyone thinks it's true. The Richared Gere gerbil case being a prime example.

If he saw this thread I suspect that Foxy and Linz might soon be hearing from his lawyer.

I don't think it's "fucking hillarious" to mercilessly rip the piss out of the appearence of a 70 year old bloke who's wife's suffering from cancer who happens to be our most successful manager this century, a Sheffielder and a Blade. People that dislike him regularly throw all kinds of personal insults his way, laugh at his big nose, question his morals and claim that he's bent, but never offer any proof. If he's had some botox treatment he wouldn't be the first bloke to do it, and won't be the last. It shouldn't matter and I personally don't give a shit.

I was referring to the mild banter which Warnock has always enjoyed. I don't spend much time perusing the personal insult posts on this type of forum. I don't think he does either.

Yep, not a dig at you PB, just a general feeling that the Warnock haters seem to get a free run on this forum for things that they'd otherwise be pulled up on. It's more the principle than anthing else. I'm not the greatest fan of the big nosed twat myself :-)
