Nothing official yet, Rumours on Bladesmad that he's been fired once more..

Gone again has he.

Premier League manager he is don't you know.

just cant cut it in the big time, can get anybody promoted but cant keep them up..

The point i was referring to is that some of our fans still think NW can cut it in the Premier when he has shown time and time again that he can't.He'd do a better job than Cloughy though, that i'm not doubting.
Some of our fans can't wait less than a year for Mr Clough to turn us around , do you think they'll wait as long as it took him the last time , to get us promoted .
Uncle Col has had his day , unless people need a tow from his tractor through the snow .;)

The thing with Clough though is can you honestly see him getting us promoted with the mentality in which he sends his side out?

He can cut it in the premier league apparently:rolleyes:

Well we will never know as far as this season goes will we. He joined them when the season was already under way and has been sacked with half the season still to come. And at QPR he was also sacked half way through a season and when still not in the relegation zone. Mark Hughes did so much better a job than Warnock, didn't he...........

Still, some people just can't wait to have a pop at the only manager that has given us anything even approaching success in the last 20 years. I'm so glad he's gone. We are doing sooooooooooooooooooo much better than when he was here.

I was stating something which i believe to be true and not having a pop at what he did while he was with us,but if you can't see that go and have dinner with him.

It took Neil Warnock about seven seasons to build the team that finally got us promotion to the premiership (from memory), and that included spending a lot on players that were either not worth it, or never really featured, especially towards the end (Akinbiyi, Bruce Dyer, Geoff Horsfield). Could he do something with the players we have currently? Would he have them running through walls for him? Would he play a solid 4-4-2, have McNulty in the starting line up?

Understand what ya mean fella , but I said at the start of the season he'd take us up , I even thought the last manager should have been given more time ( what a mistake that would have been ) ,
However Being a Blade you have to believe he'll turn it around , even being over here and watching a few games live , there does seem to be a lack of something , which is hard to put a finger on ,
Tactics , players , training , they've Played together long enough now to know each other now surely ,
Every time the other team get a free or a corner I think here's a goal ,
Still think he's the man to take us forward though ,
A promotion , a cup final , and a semi in less than 2 seasons isn't bad .

What has dinner got to do with Palace sacking him or his abilities as a manager?

And what is a thread on Crystal Palace and their recently sacked manager doing in this section?

As I said, some people just cannot wait to have a pop at him, even when he left 8 seasons ago. Incidentally, in 5 of those eight seasons we will have finished in a lower league position than the lowest position ever achieved by him whilst here.

Not unless the walls are made of paper mâché . Scougs would still struggle.

Guess the Palace board didn't see any light end of the tunnel after the recent poor run of results.
He won't come back to us, he was only willing to move to Palace because they are in the top flight, also I wouldn't bother with him.

Absolutely agree pal, Scougs is the definition of "lightweight", fast pace, but can't be more than about 7 stones wet through.

No good in the Premier but he would get us promoted from this division with his eyes shut.

Nigel has three games to turn it around for me otherwise get Sir Neil back here.

If Mr Warnock and Mr McCabe have made up and got rid of the past events bad blood between them ,when they last met at the Blades dinner . It would do SUFC no harm at all to bring him back in some capacity . We could do worst . However Mr Clough would have to sanction this . This would not be seen as a job for the boys . Mr Clough brother already holds that position.

He certainly got a fair crack at the whip with us,that's something Palace wasn't willing to give him,but i still honestly believe he struggles at the top level, that is all.

First of all I want to thank Mr Warnock for all his loyal years serving our club ,
His victory's against the pigs , his runs to the semi's , and finally his promotion to the prem league ,
However I don't think he is the man to carry us forward , for the next 10-15yrs we need to set the blocks in place now
his tactical naivety cost us more than that other affair , in our relegation from a league he's not equipped to manage in ,
I'm hitching my wagon for good or bad to the present manager , can we really afford to change our manger 3 times in a season again
I don't like the way we are playing at the moment , think it's to slow and predictable, but Stability is needed to get us out of this league , I think we need to keep a stable team , don't like all the swapping and changing for no particular reason.
But prepared to judge our manager at the end of our season .
Said at the start of the season think we'd go up and I think we still will , though at times my patience is stretched to breaking point .
3 times in a season refers to when we got relegated
