It pains me to say it, but unless our defence and midfield dramatically improve in those 6 months, then I don't think we will be clear of them.

I think we've won 6 games this season. I wasn't at Posh or Swindon who at the time were struggling and by all accounts we thoroughly deserved the wins. However, at home I can't remember one convincing performance and we've lost 2 home games already.

That type of form continues and we will continue to be behind the leaders, will remain inconsistent and will not get auto, which will be an absolute travesty. Whilst there are some decent teams this season, there's nothing that we should be worried about and the league does seem more open than at any time in the previous seasons we've been stuck here

There's time to improve, but the clock is ticking

Without additions between now and January, there's no way on earth we'll be top by then.

In addition to the powerhouses with about 4,000 fans currently above us, we'll possibly have Wigan, Peterborough and Swindon coming good too - the latter because they've actually bothered to make loan signings. Even Coventry and Barnsley could get themselves up there.
