Look at the facts, apart from a fluke season with Twente he has been very mediocre.............hardly in the same league at Benitez

What has Benitez done that is impressive really?

I'll accept that he bored everyone to tears to win the Champions League (IMO, Liverpool were lucky to get a good draw, several decisions and on a roll at just the right time) but the same year he finished below Everton in the Premier League.

He had a decent Liverpool side with quite a bit of money to spend and he blew it. Apart from his time at Valencia, where he didn't win the league either, and a fluke season at Liverpool when he won the CL, he's done beggar all.

McLaren and Benitez are very similar ability IMO. Both took an unfashionable club (Valencia/Middlesbrough) to above their usual level and won a cup and did well in the UEFA Cup. They then moved onto bigger jobs (Liverpool/England) where they failed to deliver what was expected. Since then, both have managed other European clubs and struggled. They've had one fluke season each (Liverpool winning CL, Twente winning Dutch League) ...

I wouldn't want either of them at the Blades!

Indeed. Given his amazing record it's a wonder he's not been linked with the Inter Milan job.
