When coming back from a series of injuries you're always going to pick up the odd niggle. Hopefully they'll remain minor ones and he can get his match sharpness back.

You can see the lad's quality, even in brief cameos. He is a proper footballer. The more he gets, and remains, fit the better for our future.

I agree Pinchy ,but what we don't want to do is rush him back. He's a class act in this league and we don't want to play him if he's not fully ready just because Basham is injured. We have a decent squad now and i'd rather play someone else than see him miss another month or so.

Clough won't play him just because Basham is injured - if he starts tomorrow it'll be because he's deemed fit enough to by Clough and our medical team, and because a place has become available if he replaces an injured Basham. We have an abundance of central midfielders and are under no pressure to rush Wallace, or indeed others like Scougall, back before they are fit.

Hope you're right mate,we will soon see.

If Basham is injured, I can see him dropping Jose back into midfield and putting Higdon back in. As we're away from home, he may prefer the old target man approach. There's always McGinn as well.

Having Wallace and Scougall available makes the spine of the team very very strong, in fact its a double spine!

Howard - Collins/McGahey - Doyle/Wallace - Scougall/Baxter &/or Baxter/Striker.

Sounds like Murph is struggling with a dead leg, you know, the ones we used to run off in the playground in 5 mins :D

Didn't know that.....wuss!

Following the maxim of minimal changing of a winning team, I'd go with your suggestion and drop Baxter into midfield and go with either Higdon or McNulty up front.

The worrying bit in all of this is the realisation that Basham only got brought off on Saturday because he was injured :(
