It's a dangerous time just after scoring not just us but accepted widely,we totally switched off after scoring the own goal.Credit to Peterborough they didn't sit back and wait for the onslort which would have come, when the ball went out for a throw in we didn't mark up and paid the price, the half hearted tackles that went in were very disappointing.
Reminded me of a game against Walsall in 1980 (at fellows park?) Harry Haslam was manager and I think it was the year we were relegated to 4 th division by Walsall in that fateful match at Bramall lane!!.
The pitch at fellows park was icy with surface water, very tops turvy game and we went in front 4. 3 in the last minute( bob Hatton I think Silent?) winning goal we thought ! !, no they took kick off and went straight through the middle and slotted in the equaliser amazing and so disappointing

Not sure who scored our 4th. I was playing football at Concord Park that day. Walsall's scorer for the 4th goal was Don Penn who scored the penalty at BDTBL at the end of the season

I vaguely remember this was a regular problem with us a few years ago. I thought we started over enthusiastically celebrating goals behind the corner flags in order to break the flow of the game, create a delay to allow the players clear their heads before they get back to their own half.

I thought Man Utd. used to do this back in the days when they scored a few.

Did the players chase straight back to the United half of the pitch - because they thought they could get a winner? - naturally enough, the scorer, in his enthusiasm usually doesn't celebrate and picks the ball out of the back of the net and races back to the halfway line to get the game restarted in such circumstances.

and thereby did we commit an (almost) schoolboy error?
