I think Chukwuemeka and O'Brien play a similar role, so wouldn't expect both.
He probably can play further forward (McAtee) but does a lot of good work going box to box.
He'd be a superb signing for us.
I really rate their other youngster, Madueke, but not sure if he'll be available for a loan. He'd be a great answer to Ndiaye /McAtee leaving.

I don't understand the resistance to Akpom.
The lad got POTY in our league last season, scored almost 30 goals.
When he came to Bramall Lane, he ran the show with Archer.
He's big, fast, strong and has good technique. He'd only be available to us due to his contractual situation and the fear he's a "one season wonder." At the right price, that's definitely a gamble worth taking.
PH has shown he knows how to get the best out of players and Akpom's best is good enough for us.

We'll never compete( money wise ) with
Liverpool , Manure , Citee , Arsenal , Chelsea ,Spurs etc.

There's no point trying we've been there & suffered because of it,

We will have to stabilise by using the strategy we are now, buying young players with good prospects & developing them.
We have been fairly succesful with that plus our accademy, but straying way from that pattern has cost us.

So know what your niche is improve it as you go along , but dont be tempted to start going all in.

Unfortunately we can’t afford two strikers, so if we are going for one I would pump for archer. He is the one on the upward curve. Akpom I worry that he’s like had one good season ever

i agree with you on archer but think akpom might be easier to get and i wouldnt be against him signing and even if we sign souza i would expect doyle obrien or davies to come in as well and wouldnt rule 2 of those 3 more so if we sell sander which i still think is a distinct posibility

Ideally we'd have him out on loan and playing every week. But, I think given how things are, we might well need him. I'd sooner him get a chance than playing Fleck or Osborn tbh.
