Just a polite notice to all those forum members that are going to go mental tonight if we lose, do us a favor and don't bother logging on here tonight!

  1. McBurnie isn't dogsh*t
  2. We don't need to spend another £100m to compete in the league
  3. We don't need to break our wage structure
  4. We aren't going to get relegated based on 2 results
  5. Wilder does know what he's doing
If we're shit it might be better if you don't log on tonight!

1. McBurnie isn't dogsh*t
Correct, but he's all huff and puff and no end product. He needs to start creating his own chances and not just scoring with his head. He's a good player but a poor top flight goal scorer.

2. We don't need to spend another £100m to compete in the league.

True. But it's worrying that being debt free with the lowest wage bill in the league, having finished 9th in our first season back, all of a sudden we have less money than last season to strengthen in the summer. More worrying is that we spent some of the money in January and we're trying to get a player in on loan as we can't afford the fee where we'll unlikely sign him given that other clubs are willing to buy him.

3. We don't need to break our wage structure.

Absolutely, but if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. Realistically we're unlikely to sign a striker who can guarantee us 10+ goals without paying the wages that come with that ability.

4. We aren't going to get relegated based on 2 results.

True, but we ended last season in poor form where our formerly solid defence started leaking goals and we dried up at the other end. We've signed six players so far this summer and only one has made the starting line up, that being in goal. We've seemingly started as we ended with the same problems. However the true picture of where we're likely to be competing won't reveal itself until around ten games.

5. Wilder does know what he's doing.

Yes he does, but he also needs to adapt and find a plan B that doesn't just involve getting the ball wide and whipping in predictable crosses.

I'm not saying these things to be negative but there's a counter argument to all of these points which will remain valid irrespective of tonight's result.

Just for some balance if we do lose it would be 5 league losses (obviously across different seasons so not too arsed) in a row so reasonable debate could be had on causes etc. At the moment all i'm looking for is a performance matching our pre lockdown tempo and to look semi-threatening going forward. UTB ⚔

Just a polite note to let you know, that you are mental, as evidenced by this post. ;)

I believe we will lose tonight.

Is that an offence to have that gut feeling? 😕
Errrrrm yes, but you can redeem this by by donating to a charity not of your choice, the inner blades sanctum has said this must be
"Rusty buckets r us supported by elev8 and d taxis".

But good luck with finding their account details.....disappeared into the past....allegedly

Can I start the moaning and it's only HT, our goalie is glued to his line and has got away with 3 bad decisions only to be rescued by his defenders. Looks like George Long has returned.😒

Keep starting Lunny and we will be relegated.

Was he particularly worse than any other player tonight??

Don’t think he did much wrong tbh, kept shape, got forward, good block in last few minutes

think all who played tonight started as a 6/10, and finished it 6/10.

Game ruined by a red card, think the ref saw Chelsea’s similar situation see a yellow upgraded, and just jumped straight to the red, but yellow was the correct call Tonight

After that don’t think either team looked like scoring, don’t want to criticise, but, was Ramsdale a bit flat footed (again) for the goal??

Villa looked wank tonight. If the pen had gone in it would have been a very different game. They’d have been all over the place trying to get back in the game.......we’d have just picked them off.
It make it much worse to lose to such an piss poor team......even with ten men.

If we of scored the pen then we don’t lose, Villa are shit even with all that money spent
