Villa ghost goal will cost us Europe

1. That’s not true (the stat is ‘at half time’).
2. We have drawn after leading at half time, so it doesn’t prove anything about losing two points.
It was right on the stroke of half time and it is irrelevant and doesn't have to prove that ,the final score was nil nil

Let’s sue somebody anyway. It’s dull without a high court case battle going on.
That Di Marco chap says we'd have a case. Let's assume we do. They won't add 2 points on. But they'll have to prove the images were "occluded" (fuckin hate that word). If they can prove it then fine. We were victims of a flaw in tech that has happened once ever. End of.

There's been no pictures whatsoever. At the very least we'd have a claim of negligence or summat. I don't know I'm not a lawyer. Just guessing.

But yeah, sue someone. Why not? Nothing to lose.

All teams have bad performances.
All teams will have had borderline refereeing/VAR decisions go against them.
We are the only team to have a definite 100% goal ruled out due to a combination of faulty/not switched on technology and the cowardice of VAR officials in refusing to overrule a clearly wrong decision.

We as a club have every right to be furious if we miss out on Europe, with it’s accompanying prestige and financial boost, as a result.
Certain other clubs and their well-placed fans in the media would not just meekly accept it.p as we have been forced to.
Where are the “occluded” images from six of the Hawkeye cameras for starters?
Do you think Neville and Carragher and Keane would not be demanding to see them if it was their team involved?

I hear what you are saying and I agree with you but we are Sheffield United we dont get the same treatment bigger clubs get. So if we had got the points from Newcastle and Leicester we would be 6th today. Doesnt matter what happened at Villa because that incident was not something the players could influence, quite cleary but good performance and result against the aforementioned teams was within our control. We have to play to whats within our control. You might not like it but its the way it is at the moment.

That doesn't acknowledge how goals change games.

A 1-0 lead would have changed the way both managers would approach the game, the subs/changes in system they would make.

Villa would have been forced to be more open and adventurous, would that have resulted in 2,3 and 4 for Blades?
Or would Villa have got back in the game?

We will beat Everton and lose at Soton so I think we will be more than two points off.

Our performances against fucking Newcastle have possibly cost us our place, I'm blaming Walsall too

And its far from over

Win our last 2 and I still think we will do it
And Leicester- yes I know they are above us but they were there for the taking imho. Lost to Bournemouth and looked very ordinary today vs Spurs, with our game in between

The Villa goal could cost us. Playing terrible in that game could cost us. Leaking three goals in fifteen minutes vs Man U could cost us. Dropping points vs. Newcastle at home could cost us. Losing to a poor Southampton at home could cost us. Hendo dropping a bollock vs. Liverpool could cost us. Poor defending at a set piece at Bournemouth could cost us. Not turning up vs. Leicester could cost us.

Every team in the table can cry over the points they've missed out on, for whatever reasons. We'll end up where we deserve to be. If that's not quite European standard yet then take it on the chin.

All those other things are part of the game
Goal line technology not being switched on is not

As a club we've had more than our fair share of bad luck, but my do some of our fans like to torture themselves with 'what could've been'.

Plenty of fans berate McCabe for doing this but are just as bad themselves.

It's not healthy guys. It was a fuck up, but just let it go and enjoy how well we're doing. I think we're about where we deserve to be in the table anyhow.

It is though. It shouldn't be, but it is. You think Wolves can't tell you about dropping points to bad refereeing decisions? I know Man U are well ahead of the curve but pretty much the teams around us can all tell you a story of how they'd be higher if it weren't for refs.

Once again, the ONLY FACT was that the ball was over the line as shown from the SKY camera from the goal line view - everything else about the game is opinion and speculation.

At 1 nil up we could have gone on to score 3 - we have recent history of doing just that against a poor Villa team.

UTB

At 3-0 Up we could also have gone on to concede 3. We have recent history of doing that at Villa Park as well.

The actual only fact is that we got one point from that game. If we miss out on Europe it will be our poor performances elsewhere which will have cost us.

The fact is the game finished 0-0. One goal should've been added to United's total resulting in a 1-0 win. The rest is hypothetical; noise and nonsense if you will.
If United would've scraped this win, they'd have grown in confidence and won every game since and now be sat comfortably esconced in the Champions League place. See: easy isn't it.

Can we just look forward to Villa snatching relegation on the final day please.
Call it Karma or Justice. Just clap when their expensive squad goes down with Norwich and Bournemouth.

But the referee, linesman, and VAR not spotting the goal IS part of the game.
No it isn't. The referee allowing goal line tech over his eyes, the linesman eyes and the VAR man's eyes is NOT part of the game. They didn't spot the goal because they trusted the tech because they are told to. You have to wonder if the goal was more obvious, such as thumping the back of the net whether he would have still not given it? And you can't say he would have because he trusts his watch over his own judgement.

As I mentioned before, there has been no evidence whatsoever of this 'occlusion' (I'm going to use the word obstructed from now on). I've seen dozens of these pictures, every single one of them has a goalpost in the way, some have goalkeepers in the way some of which are laid on the ball. In Jordan Pickford's instance a couple games back, the cameras managed to remove him entirely from the picture.

Yet we get nothing at all. Just an admittance that it didn't work.

But the referee, linesman, and VAR not spotting the goal IS part of the game.
The referee linesman and var choosing to ignore what they saw with their own eyes is definetly not part of the game
Let me get this straight I don't care about europe or the two points but I don't think they should get away with lying to us
We should embarrass them in a court of law and show their lies for what they are

If the worse does happen, and it costs us a European spot, then I would fully support the owner throwing a wobbler and taking legal action.

At the every least, we deserve a financial settlement comparable to what a Europe place would have given us.
We'd have to pay them

No money to be made in the early stages of the Europa league and no guarantee we'd have gone any further.
