Yep, he's got it wrong there. We were very average and clumsy today. Bolton weren't anything special, they were just a bit less shit than we were and took their chance when they got it. And Chris, I love you but please stop changing the team so much.

We were clearly better at football, but we didn't deserve to win. One of those days.

It's time we accept that we're a decent Championship side with a lack of depth, which makes us prone to dodgy results.

We've probably been the 6th best team in the league so far.

Things are at worst absolutely fine. It was a bit shit today though.
It depends how big a time period you want to put on ‘things are absolutely fine’ because our recent form is a BIG worry. The only side we’ve beaten in the past 8 is the worst side I’ve seen since... well... I actually can’t remember.

Bless him, fluffed what should have been two easy goals, but still at worst our second best player on the day

I've seen it back now re Leon's chance, and as I thought at the game, its come behind Leon, so it wasn't the miss it looked at the time. Maybe he should have being slightly deeper but the whole game today just wasn't our day, it happens. We're not going to win every week like we did last season.

“We are the widest team in the league”

Thought we were wider when Neil Shiperly was playing to be honest.

Hard for me to judge em in real time since I haven’t got x Ray vision to see through that fucking pole

Either way find it hard to be mad at him, blokes been quality all season

As in, we aren't going down, and we generally look decent, and the transfer window is about to open.

Villa, Sunderland, Bristol, B'Ham. Decent.

Bolton, Millwall, Preston. Poor.

Fulham wtf.

January could put us right. We'll see.

Its clear from the highlights mate, really annoying but it was very hard to score with the ball sent behind him and he reaches out with his back foot and he did well to get it even going forward. He should have scored the one on one but was very very close and their keeper spread himself well.

Can’t disagree with the assessments but we’ve forgotten how to defend and seem to have no ideas going forward. The next home game is vital we rediscover some form in time for.

I wish he had added

“I’ve learnt my lesson about playing Basham at RWB when its not necessary”

I don’t understand how we could have been 8/10 today. I’d give us a six. And that’s being generous.

Not one of our players deserved an eight.

Bad day at the office, unfortunately there’s been too many of those recently.
He said 7, then possibly 8.

But that wasn’t the gist of his point, which was that it wasn’t about performance as such, or failing to dominate, it was about making it pay in the final third.

Only the fucking morons will get wrapped up in the precise number he whipped out in the spur of the moment - his overall analysis was spot on.

Would have snapped hand off if knew we could be 6th at this point at beginning of season.

We did dominate them after a dodgy 20 mins, we were the better team and for a bit of quality finishing it could have been 2-1 or 3-1. We weren’t poor and there definitely wasn’t any lack of effort.

Wilder did not get it wrong at all, if you listen to the interview he clearly explains that he needed to consider baldocks and Claytons injury history with playing so much recently. It’s easy to say that he got it wrong and they should have started but if they had and got injured We be in a much worse situation.

With how good Chris has been he’s earned the right to set up and play however he thinks is gunna get a result. He’s got it right far more than wrong. He wasn’t wrong when he said we dominated the game.

Nothing to worry about, couple of new additions in jan and I fully expect us to kick on and make a go of getting in the playoffs.

Surely someone else can play right wing back
When basham and ccv have played together theyve looked like....well...like today

Chris tried to rest players in a game that despite our significant lack of strength in depth, we still should’ve been good enough to win and the players let him down. Oh it’s great that we’re 6th heading into 2018, but if our board do not back him next month, we won’t finish in this position. We’re running on fumes.

I agree with Chris and yes I was at the same game as him:oops: I wouldn’t like to watch the stuff Bolton turned out today. United were the best team by far after putting Baldock on in place of Carter Vickers and Wilder admits he may have picked the wrong side to start but it’s so easy to say that with hindsight. We created some good situations but didn’t take advantage of them.

Basham to be fair has been good at RWB only a few weeks ago we were saying he was putting great crosses in from that position. Didn’t work today we trust in the gaffer to put it right

Writing this on the hoof (get it) as I listen so might make a few errors

Very frustrating, Got caught up in the way they play in the first 10 minutes

We know how they play. They smash it up to Madine and try and win a free kick. I'd prefer not to play that way

If they were as tactically good as they say they are they would have opened up 5 times today but it was nothing to do with them opening us up

Only one team in it after the goal. Dominated the game.

Madine was outstanding.

Our fans wouldn't want us to play the way Bolton do

We didn't have the quality. Had enough of the game, been good enough from box to box and conceded a rubbish goal.

When you have 4 or 5 good chances you have to take them at this level. We get into great positions but the final ball isn't good enough

When I look at other Championship games I think we are a decent footballing side

Birmingham 8/10 performance, Bristol 9/10, Sunderland 8/10, Bolton 8/10 and we have got 4 points. It's those things that might be the difference why we won't go up.

I know what I want to do January. We need clever players. We need sharper players.

We are the widest team in the league. We have pace in the team. This formation undoes teams willy nilly what we are lacking is the final bit. To get that though you know what needs to happen (Money)

Best team loss today. Only one team wanting to play football. Don't enjoy dominating games and not putting teams to bed

Can't remember anyone other than Brentford that have dominated us at home. It's bittersweet as we are top 6 but there is more we can do

CCV was taken off for tactical reasons. It was a risk playing Baldock with his injuries. Changed Clayton because he hasn't played much and didn't want him being out for a month along with George with their injury issues. Maybe made the wrong choice

Can't say Sharp isn't scoring due to lack of service. He didn't play well today. He's got 8 goals and had good periods. Leon hasnt been left out because his performances have been consistently good

Leon apologised after the game but thought overall he was very good

Starting to believe his own hype.sounded like carloss.

The fixation of finding a place I. The team sheet for Bash and messing with a winning team has cost us this year, every time Wilder has made unenforceable changes we have lost.

Looked tired mentally and physically today. Can someone tell me if we've scored from a corner this season? We seem unable to cause any problems from set pieces (Fleck at S6 aside).

Need strength in depth, hopefully the board will back CW otherwise I think another season and he'll be gone.

Barnsley at home and Bolton away, both winners. There could be others.

Bolton 8/10? we was 4/10 at best. Clarke missed 3 good chances with the one in last minute how he didn't score that i will never know

Also, another thing that's been bugging me - why can't we fucking shoot on target ? Every twat and his dog can score against us from outside of the box, but we can't even get the fucker on target. We just don't have that in our locker do we ?
This lack of shooting from the edge of the box bugs me too. Possibly one reason to get Ched back when he's fully fit. Wheata and Beevers are not the most agile or mobile defenders but Lobbing hopeful high balls into the box they can cope with all day.

I totally agree...seems McCabe does not want to put more money in so if I was Wilder I would go elsewhere...
