Roy's View From... View From Wednesday

I thought they were supposed to be older, bigger, better or something like that. Strange that they are now reduced to being satisfied after a fourth consecutive defeat at the hands of their (10 man) city rivals which relegated them in record quick time.

Wednesday fans listing United's 'shit house players', something Wednesday would never do of course. Only two of the players listed....played for Wednesday as well.
They missed Dean Henderson!

The Express put it quite nicely as well, "As for United, they will never forget the day they relegated Wednesday - when footballing history was made in Sheffield."
The national media seems to have taken the view that relegation at the hands of your rivals in February is generally a bad thing you’d hope to avoid

Please feel free to remind those blessed Wednesday fans that their assumption of supremacy is based upon a raft of mythology, not least of all the '1867' nonsense.

'The Wednesday' did in fact predate our club. It did indeed play at Bramall Lane. But they were ousted and played at Olive Grove and later Owlerton - then outside Sheffield's city boundary - still as 'The Wednesday' whilst the city's second named club, 'Sheffield United' emerged as a footballing arm of the Cricket Club in 1889.

'Sheffield Wednesday' only became that name forty years later in 1929.

Wednesday hired Bramall Lane for their big games. It was never their home.

So they are the biggest club in Sheffield, they have a global presence (I read from one of their fans on the pre-match view from) they live rent free in our heads and all they can go on about is winning a game in the 70’s and their 0-0 win at Bramall Lane. Someone also said the 2-1 defeat felt like a win 😂 They are so deluded it’s unreal. Why can’t they just accept that they are the worst team in Championship history with a shithole ground and they will be lucky to survive this season let alone next season. Goodbye and hope we don’t see you again 👍

Can I also point out that amidst all the crying, whining and angst about their limited and threadbare squad, they were still able to bring a £2.5m striker off the bench late in the game

When they scored, I had a nasty premonition that they would win. God the only game they would win in Sheffield all season would be at us.

Thank fully, this didn't happen, and we can bask in the glow of relegating them. I just regret not rubbing their snouts into the ground with a statement big win. Since 2017 we have been so dominant and it would be great to have done this.

But no drama, we move on, as do they. Their fans think they will rebuild and be the next Coventry. Let's see.
The next Coventry

Wow - they have come down a peg or two

Their man-of-the-match was an international goalkeeper who cost as much as ours.

Still hurting 2 days on. They really know how to make these things better for us.

I’m 49 and I believe we have done the double over them five times mate? 91-92, 05-06, 17-18, 24-25, 25-26?

Unless Colin did it more than once??
We didn’t do 17/18, drew 0-0 at the Lane unfortunately when they went down to 10 men, that’s when they celebrated like mad and were chucking shirts into the crowd

The lad in this video at the end…

“This is has been the best steel city derby in decades”
“I saw a goal at Bramall Lane, I’m happy, it’s the first time I’ve seen us score in a derby since 2017”
“the difference between the teams is incredible”
“We won the second half, we almost got a point”

😂😂😂

Do these clowns even listen to themselves. It’s like a non-league team in the Cup, just happy they scored a goal and were competitive.

They will have a couple of years in League One. Then back to back promotions. The Phoenix from the Flames analogy of Coventry (tier 4 and no ground but now on the verge of the Prem) appeals to their delusional minds. It must be nice supporting the Pigs, the glass is always 100% full. The earth is flat. Night is day. Black is white.

I was also astounded when I heard them say the same things.

For them it must be like a non-league side going to a Prem team.

This is surely beyond Notts Forest and Notts County.

More like Celtic/Rangers v Clyde.
