I have never been to the stadium of "light", however on TV it looks just like many of the new modern plastic bowl stadiums that I have visited. Also the seats are more pink and white than red.
Genuine question is it really a great stadium?
I'd say so. Quite big n all tbh

It's one of the best 'new' grounds (> Derby / Leicester / Cov / Smoggies/ NotloB / 'ull / Swansea / Cardiff / Cheating Cockney Cunts & better than 'rebuilds' @ Forest Wulvs Villa etc
Ordinarily generates a good racket if they're doin owt like & plenty o ale houses

They were woeful. I know their fans don't seem to like O'Shea but I think we'd have had 7 without him trying to hold them together today. We strolled it without getting out of 2nd gear and barely trying for the last 30 minutes.

You win a night out with Cattermole ,knife supplied ;)
So what's he on then, Rodwell?

We had players on what 5,7,10k a week in league one? Coutts got berated. Hammond and a few others n all. But imagine we had players on that kinda money taking us for mugs? I think a bit more than shoes would be coming off.

I always thought the Sunderland fans were better than such comments, gone down in my estimation after reading that. WTF was Coleman thinking leaving the Wales job he must be one money grabbing bastard there is nothing worth a wank in that team, the worst at the lane all season by some margin so far. Still seems like they will fall further before the deluded among their fans acknowledge they are shite, a way to go yet before they hit rock bottom. One shot all game and that went out for a throw in, Sunderland might do better if their players don't constantly throw themselves on the floor, pull shirts and generally play the man rather than the ball. I think the referee did everything he could to help them today but still they were utterly dreadful. League One I'm afraid unless they change the majority of that team in January.

I don't know the only ones mentioned were Johnson was on 65 ,Oshea on 40 ,Cattermole 80 and Rodwell a lot more ,but they cant (sell or play not sure which) him as that would trigger a clause the would cost them 10 million for some reason

Rodwell gets named a lot...maybe he's their Lee Hendrie.

I do feel a bit sorry for them because they're treading the path we took and they haven't the bottom yet. Oh no.

Strange decision for Coleman to take the job. He must have a great belief in his own ability, or they offered him loads of money.

 woah there heading for extinction

“I wouldn’t actually say they were that much better than us. Scoreline flatters them imo”

It’s a bit different when you’re getting £100,000,000 a season just for existing. Of course, now they aren’t, it’s a big problem.

If they can't handle being beaten in front of 30,000 at Bramall Lane, I can't wait until they're being turned over at Fleetwood and Walsall next season. At present, that's where they're headed.

We were playing a team who had picked up two points in their last six games.

We were playing a bunch of cunts who'd picked up 19 points in 24. And ripped you apart.

Get over it you fake Geordie bastards.

League One will be a nice surprise for some of them reading those comments. Although to be fair in "real life" I find Mackems much more down to earth than Geordies.

"Been following Sunderland since 1976 can’t ever remember Sheffield beating us once in a season never mind fucking twice. You fucking cockwombles”

Obviously hasn't been following them very closely then! I know we haven't got the greatest of records against them, but we have beaten them at fairly regular intervals during that time, including a double in 1986-7.

Comments like that really do make it difficult to have any sympathy at all for them. Our neighbours clearly aren't the only ones with a "massive" complex.

And 97/98, first game of the season and first leg of the play offs.

And to be quite honest a lot of the teams we played last season would probably turn them over without having to try too hard.

Agree.

Today really reminded me of being back in league 1, the match was almost boringly easy.

Sunderland came and parked the bus hoping for a 0-0 and we were struggling to break them down
But once we scored, there was no reaction or intent from Sunderland and the game was affectively over.
In fact Sunderland tamely accepted defeat and were pretty spineless.

Today Sunderland just looked a mid table/ average league 1 side.

If you hadn't been quite so abusive with the language, I would have given you a "like" for that. But I do agree with the general sentiment. Strange how they can expect to beat us because we've had a 6 game blip (that's if you count Villa as part of the blip), and yet they are on a 24 game blip.

That's ok, I'm doing alright for likes.

But yes, I agree with the overall premise of your post.

What a bunch of nobs.
Worst side i have seen at the lane this season by a country mile.
I really hope they have some money to spend in January, because if they don't they are in big trouble.

On second thoughts i hope they have f!#k all to spend.

The meaning of life may well be 42 buy there was no meaning to that football game other than we smashed em....feel sooryba bitvfjr zfypt

Got my own view from Sunderland Roy , my mackem friend pretty much echoed the majority on there saying they were fucking awful & an embarrassment to the shirt ; with no bottle , battle or effort , I said unfortunately I agree old lad & get ready for third tier football , He seen us quite i few times over the years & said its the best footballing Blades team he’s seen & said with a few additions would be challenging for top 2 , I said obviously it was an important win for us but we’ve played better & without winning in other games this season .
The double over them a bit of pay back for the play off semis & the 4~0 arseholing under Bruce just would have liked a couple of more goals to complete the hand

What divine right do Sunderland have?

Are they even a bigger club than us?

Yes. A fair bit bigger.

But it's one of those areas of the world where the football club is the only thing it has going for it, so it's more of a draw because there's fuck all else to do.

They've got a good backing and a great stadium but that team will struggle in league one I reckon. League one is where they're heading as well if they carry on like that.

They'll be OK if they get a manager with experience of a relegation battle. Coleman has never impressed me - his Wales 'success' was due to a great squad coming together at the right time. Whoever is their manager, his priority is to clear out all the has-beens on big wages (think Wednesday). Also, don't forget that they got £100m as a reward for finishing rock-bottom of the PL last season so can buy their way out of trouble.

They're in big trouble if they continue to play like that. Heard Grabban was leaving in the JTW so that'll be them fucked.

They were buying plenty of "journeymen" this summer too like McGeady, Vaughan and Grabban.

Grabban is a Bournemouth player on loan to Sunderland. He's by far their most effective player (12 goals so far this season) and I was pleased he wasn't in the line-up.

I'll continue to disagree about them going down, they're bad but not that bad and they won't be playing Sheffield United who'd just got their mojo back every week.
