Only just had time to read the view from as I was intrigued to see what they’d say and wow 🤣🤣🤣🤣 don’t know why but thought they’d be a bit more balanced living in Newcastle’s shadow since I’ve watched football anyway.

The comments on the game were bad enough but going on the pig forum to seek further comfort has topped the lot !

Was it that controversial the game !? Penalty was given correctly, reds were given correctly, not much between the sides except they looked much quicker on the break and that’s about it ! Jesus 😂😂

Comments by ignorant fans is light amusement after 3 points. The played with high pressure and intensity that took us off our normal game. They tired last 15 and the game changed. 4-2 on target. All ours last 15.

I had a lurk on porktalk and saw that too. Nearly pissed mesen. They certainly do seem to be a weird lot Dem Pigs and Dem Mackems.

FWIW most Blades take a very balanced view. IMO we started off reasonably well without actually creating too much. They then came into the game and looked lively. Deffo pen, Coops saves it. Deffo red cards. Second half becomes a tactical battle. Mackems look good on the ball early doors without actually creating owt. Blades force ourselves back into the game and finish strongly, nabbing the winner. In the end we just did what we had to do and ran the clock down.

Job done, back to the boozer then dodgy kebab. What's not to love

They looked quicker on the break and really caught out Robinson and Souttar. We changed things at half time and they had much more possession which meant that we turned into the counter attacking side. Sometimes it is better to let the opposition have the ball instead of getting caught out by pacey attacking players.

Whether we let them have possession or whether they dominated us is for discussion, but we brought on players like Seriki and Davies that gave us additional numbers for attacks and them having more possession worked for us

We showed our experience with and without the ball, even with young players mixed in with the experience we were smarter

Spot on. At 10 v 10 I thought we’d lose to be honest given how the 1st half had gone and the extra space there would be. But the tactical tweaks worked very well.

We definitely didn’t press as high at the beginning of the 2nd half, same way they didn’t in the 1st half and relied on the counter attack.

It was a very entertaining game (easy to say when you’ve won haha)

It was a really exciting game, first half was perhaps a bit chaotic but it was unusual to see two sides having a go. Got to give credit to Sunderland for not sitting in and wanting to win the game, but you’ve also got to say that only having one plan was their downfall and has been in recent games for them. All attack and very little to show for it.

Their fans said before the game that they had a rock solid defence and were a threat going forward. The game and recent games show that only works against lesser sides in the division, like Wednesday

They’re a decent side and a threat but they have to learn to adapt. Our tweaks weren’t responded to, as opposed to Leeds that adapted to our play and countered us.

Arguably the most hysterical set of reactions ever seen on the view from! Jesus Christ, what a load of absolute planks.

They were better in the first half, we were better in the second half. We took our chances, they didn't. That's why we won.

And an annual reminder that the reason we have parachute payments is because we actually managed to get promoted in the last decade.

Wow, they're giving the pigs a run for their money in the mardy bum stakes. They honestly have a problem with Wilder because their arrogant manager wouldn't shake Wilder's hand 🤣? How the hell is that Wilder's fault?!

They had the first half, we had the second. We kicked the ball in the net and in truth, pen aside, they never really looked likely too. It was a brain dead decision from Souttar to get the second yellow that in all likelihood kept them in a game. Hamer's superb first time pass leading to the straight red had unlocked the game for us. The sort of quality you rarely see in the Championship. They were looking at 50-55 minutes 10 vs 11 which would've been very difficult for them.
What was the deal with their manager not shaking Wilders hand?

They obviously don't remember, just a few years ago, when they were the newly relegated team, with the overwhelming advantage of parachute payments? They promptly got relegated and we, a cheaply assembled newly promoted from league 1 team, smashed em 4 nil at the Lane if i recall correctly.

I mean. Its such a massive advantage, and yet they got relegated.
My thoughts exactly

Just read their comments. Understandably salty in that they were the better team for large parts. It's not our fault regarding parachute payments and we have them because Wilder got us up in the first place without them and that gave us a decent footing to then bounce back under Hecky.

Haha brilliant that. All the old tropes. Horrid piss chucking spitting thug bastards, one even complains about getting crushed in our shit hole away end! Haha dozy cunts. Do they want to have an argument about who has the most dangerous away end? Really?

It's amazing to see the reaction to see us winning a big game. Haha

It did. I know as I got a nice clip to the face... However, the Sunderland fan in the cream overcoat thing who was shouting “where’s all these hard Yorkshiremen?” at young and old, found one and got dealt with by a blade with a cracking head butt and then was arrested by SY’s finest.

I got a clip, I think by accident, as I don’t think I was the intended recipient, but he ended up on his backside, after a decent punch from another blade and then felt the full force of my right foot. Not my proudest moment but the red mist had come down and I was furious about being hit. Especially ad I was with my family.

There were multiple scuffles, but the stewarding after the game on Bramall Lane was non-existent and all the fans came out around the same time time. It was chaos.

Sorry bout that
Must’ve happened before or after I came out of bramall lane corner

Whilst I agree that parachute payments are inherently unfair, I do have to laugh at how it's automatically wheeled out by fans after a defeat.

"How could we POSSIBLY compete against them, they get PARACHUTE PAYMENTS! IT'S NOT FAIR!"

it's a shame to see a club as big as Sunderland having such a loser mentality. It's not exactly Man City vs United levels of unfairness.

And parachute payments are never mentioned if they win. It's like an easy excuse for losing; a comfort blanket. Fucking losers! 🤣

I’m genuinely sorry that you had any kind of physical attack of any sort, intended or not. It’s absolutely abhorrent and has no place in society, let alone at an otherwise fantastic sporting event. However, I think using phrases such as ‘dealt with by a blade with a cracking head butt’, ‘ felt the full force of my right foot’ and ‘ended up on his backside, after a decent punch from another blade’ don’t in any way support the point I think you are trying to make

Should be a fun read!

Edit: Fuck me, they’re more obsessed than Wednesday fans with the parachute payments. Funny how that huge advantage didn’t seem to help them when they got relegated from the Premier League a few seasons ago and <checks notes> immediately got relegated to League 1 though did it.

🪂🪂🪂

Quite ironic that they went down then got parachute payments and still ended up in league 1.

Thought parachute payments were a guaranteed way to get back up?!

Then again they were paying Rodwell 60k a week in league one no wonder their players didn't give a flying fook!

Worst set of comments by an opponent so far?

Though tbf we'd probably be all super bitter if the pigs were the richest team in the world and had been in the top flight for 8 years while we'd been languishing in L1/championship

Things that didn’t happen……..
There were flashpoints,I saw 3 after leaving the ground,1 on John st and 2 near petrol station, punches thrown then they went their separate ways
