Cheers Roy...pretty grim reading for Robin's. I guess he thought they got a point the other week and could have won it..play the same way again..didn't work out of them fortunately....

I think he was partly right to praise us, we did play well. However we played well given what was in front of us. An energetic side putting men behind the ball putting pressure on the likes of Holt, Coutts and Baxter would've broken play up better. We were allowed to knock the ball about neatly in the middle and they really played into our hands by standing off us through midfield.

The problem that most teams in this division would have with us last night was the wide threats. The central 3 had too much time and if you include Davies in that as well, they kept the ball well. This allowed us to release the wide 4 freeman& flynn and harris & murphy combinations. They had so much space out there.

Scunny tried to deal with Murphy, like most teams they doubled up on him, but Harris & Murphy are wise to this now. Murphy taking two men away with him, then releasing the ball to harris to run at the two defenders, Harris releases a ball into space for Murphy - then unmarked. This happened several times last night.

The other issue Scunny had towards the end of the game was when we replaced Davies for McNulty. He still offered an ability to hold the ball up, but he has more unpredictable movement and caused a few problems.

Having several options out wide, through the midfield and up front is what we've needed for a long time, plus Done sat this one out... We just need to do this much more often.

Special praise must go to their no 35, Isaih Osborne, who I have to say gave the worst performance from a professional footballer I've seen in a long time. I was gutted when he was substituted.

Fair play to Scunthorpe, although they were awful at least they didn't try to kick us off the park like MK Dons and Preston did.

Scunthorpe have summed up our season in a nutshell. When we drew there just 10 days ago the fans - quite rightly - were pissed off. (Or 'fickle', 'impatient', 'moaning bastards' according to who you choose to believe.

Last night showed what we can do. What we should have been doing for most of the season. Nothing to do with thinking we've 'got a God-given right' to promotion. We have the crowd, the players, the investment to make performances like last night's the norm rather than the exception.

United played at a nice high tempo, and when we moved the ball quickly, they couldn't cope. Some of those Scunthorpe comments are deliciously bitter.

Yep, have to agree. He was hailed as 'the next big superstar' when he made his debut at Villa. Think he even got in the England set -up. His career has steadily gone downhill and, even worse ,he made Jose look mobile.
