Interesting that Deadbat a highly respected poster for his match reports has Moore at 8.5/10 (M.O.M). Even more interesting some of the people who have liked his report despite their comments in this thread.

That's the point pal I'm not unbiased I'm a "BLADE" what the hell are you ?

I'm a blade. I'll always be one. But if we won the Fa Cup final with a ridiculous own goal against Man Utd in the 95th minute after having 5% possession, I'd still be able to celebrate AND say we were fortunate. Its not either/or. They can go hand in hand.

I didn't have Moore as my MOM. I thought a couple of times he pawed the ball instead of catching or punching and his distribution wasn't the best when kicking, however has a good arm pass.

I think everyone respects Deadbat for the amount of time it must take him to write a report from the people who can't go, but you don't have to agree with him, like I don't with Moore.

Wright was my MOM, but he went unnoticed. he is on the whole very calm and I like that in a CB

I long for the game when we have 10 shots on target.

I am genuinely puzzled that people can't see that we should be thankful for the 3pts today. I'm delighted that we got them. But I'm beginning to think that people on here can't give an unbiased view on events.

Yes but several of those shots were tame efforts from outside the box that Moore dealt with comfortably or were blocked before they got to him. I am a bit puzzled that you didn't see this to be honest.

Personally I see today as a deserved win, nothing to be grateful for as nothing was given to us, nothing at all, the ref saw to that! We ground it out yes, rode a bit of luck yes, but ultimately we put one of our chances away and had just enough about us to stop theirs.

It's a home win and a much needed clean sheet for heaven's sake, those positives should outweigh any negatives tonight. Things are gradually getting there with this team, enjoy it I say.

I do agree with one of your earlier points though, with Long in goal the tamer efforts from today would have turned into match winners or he would have flapped at a cross or 2 giving them an easy chance.

I think Sinclair should go more Partridge in everything he says. "Applaud! Applaud like mad for The Blades"

Someone said today that he's reformed The Stylistics tribute band that he used to front.

I didn't believe them... but..........

3 CBs and Moore were great. Basham was good niggling for the ball but poor in possession.

Defensively solid today. Good to see a 0 next to the oppo.

Grit and determination is back which has enabled us to see out the last 2 games. That's the biggest positive for about 18months for me.

I've not tried to be or sound negative. I merely agreed that they probably deserved a point.

If it was the other way around, we would've come away thinking the same.

End of the day.. I'm firmly in the "Clapper" camp.

Know what you mean about formation. I agreed with the change at half time. I was thinking we don't need 3 CBs, we're the home team, why should we stack the defence!? But, it seems to work better with the players we've got than 4-4-2.

Scougall bless him, I like him this season, trying very hard and is trying to be creative, but he's not a right winger.
Matt playing three at the back is not stacking the defence, for me it is positive, you are playing with potentially five midfielders and two strikers, our team has won four on the bounce playing this way, I said at the time it was a wrong decision to revert to a back four, they had far more of the game (midfield) in the second half, I agree though either team could have won but there chances were from distance, stick with three at the back, it is the most attacking system of the lot.

There were times today when it felt like they were going to equalise, I agree with that but personally I think we did just about enough to deserve the win. Getting at them with th early goal and being desperate for a clean sheet meant that we would probably spend periods with our backs against the wall. It was good to see us cope with it to be honest. They played some decent stuff and I absolutely get why they are frustrated but if you don't put your chances away this game will always bite you in the arse.

Not sure if we will have enough to beat Scunny though?

Peterborough deserved a point on the balance of play

You don't get what you deserve, you get what you earn.
They could have had 75% possession and 150 shots, counts for nothing if the shots are weak from 25 yards like most of theirs were.
We probably shaded the better chances.
They contributed to a good game and had many decent players, but I don't think they were unlucky to leave without a point.

I think you're right, but he was brilliant today. He's not a right winger, he's not a centre mid, but he is something for Sheffield United.

Scougs, Coutts and Freeman have all enjoyed something of a renaissance under Wilder. It's just that Scougs doesn't have a set position yet. Frankly, he never has and I'm not sure he ever will.

He can keep up the good work for me, though!

Agree about Scougal. He offers something different, a tricky, direct little player with a heart like a bull. He gets tossed around like a rag doll sometimes but never shirks a challenge and just gets on with it.

For me, he is a player we should persevere with, for time being at least. He showed us in Clough's first season that there is something there and I get the feeling that he at least a few more Wembley type moments in him.

What makes you think we won't have enough to beat Scunny ?
Have you seen them play ?
Looking at the games they have played.
4 sides in the bottom 7
And only 2 sides in the top half of the division, which they drew one and lost the other.
They also play Tuesday night while we have a free week, which might or might not help us.
We may not win next Saturday but I don't think we need to be worried about any side in this division.

Well I've certainly learned something about Peterborough fans today....

....They become identical to Coventry fans when they lose, i.e whiny fucking crybabies.

And the obligatory swipe at the perceived lack of activity from the crowd. I actually thought that we were in fine voice today considering the opposition.

Away supporters in Division 3 need to understand that for them, coming to a ground like Aesthetically Pleasing Downtown Bramall Lane might be a novelty, but for us it's like being the tallest kid in pre-school - not much to shout about.

It was an even game, therefore it's reasonable to say they deserved a point

Not saying we won't, just not sure. They are scoring quite freely at the moment and will be far more of a goal threat than most of the teams we have beaten.

You're spot on though, we shouldn't fear any bugger in this league and I suspect that we won't under CW. Still doesn't mean we will win but I can't wait to watch it either way because this team looks well up for it right now.

I can tell you this, I've been going round the ground as I like to and today we went in the corner at the away end, I know we cut them open twice in the first five mins and scored the second one, but, regardless of that flattening the away fans, they were the quietest on there so far this season, been on John street twice, and the rest on the kop this season only missed the midweek games due to work so far, they were the quietest away fans so far.. How did they sound from the kop, just wondering about how the sound travels, could I not hear the roar of the mighty Boro army because the sound went forward...

It's a hallmark of shit away fans to make a point of saying that the home support was shit. Psychologists call it 'projection'.

I didn't hear a single sound from the away fans all day, though to be fair I sit towards the back of the kop.

I find it strange that on the very day the kop were louder than they have been for a long time and created a great second half atmosphere, some people are specifically airing a contrary view that we were quiet.

It's either deluded or attention seeking.

That's the strange thing about the acoustics of football grounds. We were at the Wimbledon game last week, standing on the home terrace on the same side of the ground as our "official" fans (i.e. 50 odd yards from the bulk of Blades) and you honestly wouldn't have known there were ANY away fans there, never mind 800 out of the 4,800. Even when we scored you couldn't hear a thing. Now please don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting for one minute that our fans were being quiet at Wimbledon - I KNOW that they weren't - just that the bizarre acoustics of football grounds sometimes mean that people don't always hear what you think they hear...

Sitting where we do on JSS, very near the away fans, quite often that's all you can hear. Today the kop were much more vocal and even H block could be heard at times. Posh were not very loud at all.

Singing songs, high attendances, don't equate to three points.

They should visit Old Trafford when there's four times as many in the ground, then they'll know what a quiet stadium is.

Clean sheet.
Three points.

Last time that happened, Norah was leaving a "slug's trail" for three days in the front room.

By the way, Roygbiv

Ta. X.

Leave me and our Norah out of this please Mr Lydon you seedy old git

I was pretty much under the scoreboard on Jss for Oxford and they were loads louder for longer periods of the game, more a case of the Boro fans today not understanding home crowds of perceived favourites... For example Bolton were very quiet till the goal, cause they are nervous because they are one of the bigger clubs with bigger expectations as are we, Bolton were scared of losing and for the same reason as we are, it's quiet , they still didn't settle into a noisy crowd till five mins from time cause it was only one nil....

If we start to get a run together and we start to put our chances away, it'll be noisier and fuller...then the away fans will be moaning about the pies again in no time..

did posh really hurt us one i can think of is the stop from moore from edwards apart from that a few long shots they passed the ball well but we defended even better i think when moncur had to take the ball across the area and lost it sums them up . we had the more clear cut chances .posh fans have always been bitter .

wright coming in to the team conincided with the run were on

That defender with the Lego haircut running onto the ball should have buried that chance to be honest, he made great contact, but Skye'd it, I though that was a good chance, after that and the saves that Moore had pulled off, I just felt it was our day..
