"Not many are going to win at Bramall Lane"

The last three all have...

Cheers Royston :)

Just as quite a few of them have changed their views on Utd and Wilder, and in general their views before and after the match have been very measured by social media standards, it would be good to see some of our Scouse haters recognise that their fan base includes all sorts of people. And we should cut them some slack; after all, they’ll never see their team win the League 1 Championship (probably).
I fall into the bad habit of discussing scousers in this way. Yet actually, it’s not them I find so annoying, it’s the fucking plastics.

There’s plenty of top people come from Liverpool (and everywhere for that matter).

I wasn't aiming to be a misery about it - there are good jokes to be had about stereotypes, and I am always willing to play the part of the tight-fisted Yorkshireman, particularly when it gets me out of buying my round... But some of the stuff can be quite vicious, and for no good reason appears to be attacking a large number of people who don't deserve it.

The clean sheet was due to their lack of quality up top when under pressure more than anything....
Got to agree with this observation. Mcburrnie and Robinson appear to be struggling to step up.

“we didn’t play as well as we could and yet still could have put 4 or 5 past them if it wasn’t for poor finishing and a blatant penalty not even going to VAR!!!” “Yea they got a good home field advantage, but our goalie is better than their goalie. They parked the bus and tried to waste time, then when we scored they finally started playing, screw them they got what they deserved. We go what we deserved. Go a Reds!!!!”

Obviously a foreigner/touristy plastic idiot, probably a major benefit in us not being a top 6 club as we'd get "supporters" like that!

Anyway 90% of the other views were pretty complimentary and recognised we're a decent team, not that I feel I need approval from outsiders for my team but it shows they are taking notice and as the season goes on it will even more so.

Also don't know what time wasting we did? Their 'keeper Adrian got a yellow for doing exactly that! 🤔

One said we were physical we only committed 8 fouls, another said we were time wasting but their keeper got booked for, you guessed it, and another said we were playing long ball but what stood out to me as I watched yesterday was how many lumps they played, but I suppose when you're liverpool it's called a long pass

Cheers Roygbiv and happy birthday. I will forgive your tardiness in getting the view out 😀

Mostly surprisingly reasonable, I love the respect for Wilder. Top 6 fans and pundits waking up and smelling coffee alert.

Couple if long ball and physical, could have would have comments, but all in all highlights how far we have come as a club.

Still gutted though!.

Great performance again Roy, results will follow at BDTBL👍

This was actually raised by my Liverpool mate on the journey back from the game. I didn’t think we’d done much of it, but he took exception in particular to:
  • Henderson with most goal kicks (he was annoyed that Adrian in contrast was singled out for the same)
  • O’Connell kicking the ball away to delay a free kick (think he was booked for this)
  • our ball boys reluctance to hand the ball back and “hardly a coincidence that there were some areas of the pitch where there weren’t any”.

While not noticing this at the time, on reflection I think that’s probably fair enough. It’s the sort of thing that you probably don’t notice as much if it’s your team doing it, but when it’s the opposition any instance colours your perceptions.

“The clean sheet was due to their lack of quality up top when under pressure more than anything. I’m sure a load of teams are gonna go there and get turned over. They try to play decent footy and have a great crowd behind them. Credit where credits due. They aint bad, they just came up against a side today who don’t know when they’re beat.”

Until Wilder finds the key to unlock our forward partnership, and the midfield to supply them, this will be our season. The right attitude and a great work ethic just won't find enough goals.
He has raised the players expectations, and also what the fans want. Avoiding relegation is already not good enough.

Happy birthday Roy, suppose next weeks view from will delayed due to post party recovery...but hey hoh.....
Decent comments in that lot..99% compliments.

Don’t forget when the ref was pointing at his watch in added time as Stevens was trying to make the most of an attacking throw in.

I noticed it from the 1st minute LB, we took an age with everything and I mean everything, it was doing my head in as I can’t fucking stand time wasting. 🤬

On the odd occasion we had players in great positions to take a quick set piece but we opted to delay it every single time, it seriously grates the shit out of me and it usually takes something drastic to do that. 🤬

.......and relax wiz.🙈😁

Avoiding relegation will be good enough for me, given how far we’ve come, the timeframe, and the modest investment.

Anyone expecting more needs to give their head a wobble.

I noticed it mate and did wonder that Taylor didn’t do anything about it earlier

I think I prefer the bitter sort of remarks from other supporters, don't you just hate it when fans of other teams after taking 3pts pat you on the head say well tried now get back in your kennel.

Think they’ll give us a bit more respect in future instead of keeping there heads stuck up their rear orrifice . Most acknowledge they edged a very close game , some of the others really ought to stop taking those disco biscuits as it’s fucking up their rational thought

No disrespect, but even an optimist like me can see. With a little more polish, we can be even better this season. It's an opinion, that's all. :)

We have seen how well we can play against Southampton and now, Liverpool. They just scored more than we did. We created chances in both games but goals need to be scored to win games like these. The optimist in me says, it will come.
I don't have the answers, maybe Wilder does?

I think there’s a good chance we could finish mid table. But I don’t expect it, that’s my point.

Avoiding relegation will be a huge achievement. Anything else, a bonus.

“Joe Elliott, Sean Bean, Colin Wanker, Michael Palin, Dave Bassett, Joe Root, can you hear me, can you hear me, your boys took a hell of a beating, your boys took a hell of a beating!”

One nil is hardly a hell of a beating, you fucking idiot.
It might just be a joke, just saying?

Thanks Roy. A couple of the usual suspect wanker comments (big, strong, physical, hard working etc) but overall pretty complimentary & at least a little knowledge of us, but it is easy to be magnanimous when you are victorious & I would prefer more bitterness that would indicate we took points off them.
