There's been a general air of delusion around Forest for years, and there still is despite their uttter mediocrity of the last 20 years.

I haven't checked but I'd guess their league finishing positions match, with remarkable similarity, those of UK Eurovision entries, and about as entertaining.

The problem in Forests case and possibly the younger fans, it makes them think they are a bigger club than they really are. A giant club fallen from grace as opposed to a club roughly the size of ours who had a phonomenal 15 year existence (and yes I’d take it in an instant!)

It speaks volumes that their MoM was Dawson, a centre half, against a side that didn't have a shot on target you can see why. They were solid at the back.

We didn't have a plan B in the second half, plan A was clearly being stifled and i thought Coutts had done a decent job, presumably he was getting minutes under his belt and he was always due to come off after an hour or so.

I thought wilder missed a bit of a trick to bring in more pace and replace Clarke with Washington as Dawson struggles with more pacey players.

I have said before that Forest are the Queen of football. Extremely successful in the late 70s and 80s then their frontman died and now they are just limping on despite knowing it's never going to be as good as it once was. Their fans go to the new shows but deep down they know they are just trying to relive the past by watching a tired and bland version of what went before.
