Well that's likely to ruffle a few feathers.

"Another good point away from home"

Is he trying to piss the fan base off?

"Another night we'd of won 1-0 easily"

Same old bullshit

Also mate you should number these in the title otherwise its gonna get very confusing lol

He's seriously deluded if he thinks we might have won that, he must have forgotten them hitting the inside of the post a minute after the equaliser.

We scraped a point and were poor most of the game. They attacked at pace, with two wide men, we ambled forward slowly, with one wide man and Done manfully chasing long punts. As close to hoof as you're likely to see, very disappointing.

And as for playing two full backs at centre half, it baffles me, it's inconceivable we'll keep a clean sheet between now and the end of the season. Even Basham wasn't signed as a centre back, so if he won't play Collins, it's make do and mend in the spine of the team.

I don't often get down about the way we play, but first 20 minutes apart, that was clueless.

I am a Clough fan but saying things like "at 1 - 0 we thought come on Walsall try to break us down" - if we have one of the best defensive records in the league fair enough, but with our record of keeping clean sheets and no centre halves it seems a very strange mindset to have.

We are just so predictable at the minute which is the worst part.

Still think we can come good with a bit of confidence and a strong centre back brought in. He is not helping himself at the minute though.

Happy with a point away from home!! Now, where have I heard that before!!

Anybody would think we were good at keeping clean sheets to win a game at the moment we have got to score 2 goals
and its not as if we are winning at home either if we were a point away is a not a bad result
When will Clough realise this the fans know this

Trying to pick positives out of that interview is like clough trying to pick positives out of our performances

Perfect interview summing up exactly what the managers expectations are and how he's approaching games. He's happy with a point at Walsall, equally he was happy with a point at Scunthorpe. He was disappointed that we lost at home to Fleetwood but not overly upset (he had 2 scapegoats to blame in his short interview).

As to his tactics well again, he admitted that once we'd taken the lead our plan was to sit deep and defend it, not the best plan for a team that can't keep a clean sheet but what do I know, I don't have the coaching badges he has so that renders my views redundant, at least in the eyes of his faithful little lapdogs who'd still be "getting behind the boys" and "singing for 90 minutes" even if you dressed 11 baboons in red and white and called them a Blades team.

No, tonight was another watershed for me, a point at Walsall is crap no matter how you dress it up, and to hear our leader say otherwise just sums our predicament up. He shows little ambition, is tactically limited, is too easily pleased and really isn't what this club needs. He's as dour as David Weir, Bryan Robson and Blackwell and look at the stick they took.

Sorry, I liked the cut of his jib at first, thought he sounded like he was going to take us places. Now I cringe when I hear him, how sad, his negativity is killing us.

If Walsall had played their full strength side then maybe Nigel would have been right and a point would have been a half decent result but against a side who put out a weakened team ?.

Even in that scenario crucial, Clough 'being happy' with that is totally unacceptable.

If I was Bristol's manager I 'would be happy' with winning 3-0 at home. Ditto if I was Chesterfield's manager. If I was Swindon's manager, I would be 'more than happy' winning a tough game at Doncaster. If I was MK Dons manager, I would be 'delighted' that, despite losing their two stand-out strikers they can still win 3-1 away. And if I was Preston's manager, I 'would be happy' to have beaten a strong Peterborough side.

But scraping a fucking draw at under-strength Walsall??? Rather than mouthing the same old platitudes after every game, Clough should realise he's got a crisis on his hands. 'Taxi for Clough'? More like 'strait-jacket for Clough'.

It's alright though, because we could have won if their keeper hadn't made an incredible save from Ben Davies a the end...

What a phuckin bell end he is, happy with that ? he should be phuckin embarrassed.

On the face of it, what he said is by and large accurate. Fifth place and game in hand on the teams within a win of us, and although Walsall hit the post Davies was denied by a good save in the 90th minute which would have won the points.

But if he thinks two draws at Scunthorpe and Walsall are good enough then he's out of his mind. Especially given the last three home games had earned us one point. Three points out of 15, it's miles away from being good enough, and it's not down to our being unlucky. If anything, we're lucky we didn't lose both away games.

Performances are slow and ponderous, defensively we are totally unable to keep clean sheets and it has the depressingly familiar look of 2012/13 under Wilson and Morgan. Clough needs to appreciate and understand that with the investment in the team, watching the same crap that didn't work two years ago isn't going to wash.

I always thought that we'd make the play offs, and I still do because we do have good players, but this time we have to have momentum going into it and have the fans on board. But were we to sleepwalk into the play offs as we are then we'll most likely suffer another 15,000 play off fiasco.

And the only way to gain momentum is to up the pace and intensity of our play and have a go at teams from the off! It doesn't mean go gung ho, but don't invite teams to break us down - we're not very good at it - and let them worry about us.

Whilst I too am unhappy with what's going on, is all this dissection of every utterance really necessary? What can he say which will not be processed and come out with the conclusion "he's a xxxxx"?

Indeed. I think I've mentioned before I take no interest or attach any relevance to the usual after match warblings of any football professional.

I think the answer to the the question in sentence 2 is "Nothing". He's either delusional (if he suggests we're on track) or negative (if he suggests we aren't). There seems to be no happy medium.

I think if you replace "say" with "do" a more relevant and revealing question would be formed.

I don't often comment and I definitely haven't concluded he's a xxxxx (not sure what that noun might be or is your spelling bad?) :-)

However, having watched one of the most dispiriting performances I've seen, and I've seen plenty, his view is so detached from reality, I felt it was worthy of comment (on a messageboard).

If we'd lost 2 or even 3-1, we'd have deserved it and for him to say we could have had all 3 points beggars belief.

Exactly, if you speak to most Man U fans, they have been less than impressed with Van Gaal, his approach and the way they've played this season despite getting results. Admittedly, they are not the best example but the game against Spurs at the weekend was completely different, quicker passing, a more adventurous approach and look what happened.

Brayford, Harris, both excellent going forward, Done, loads of energy up front, Murphy, Reed, Scougall, Coutts, Baxter, Flynn, all capable of decent football at this level as they have shown so why not go for a 2nd goal at 1-0, not the 'see if they can break us down' approach which clearly isn't working. I know it's easier sat behind a keyboard but we know they can do it.

Nice one mate, it's getting beyond ridiculous
