Now this could make the most tepid view from... but its interesting seeing different clubs’ fans view of the current situation

I have just been browsing a couple of forums (Norwich and Leeds) and generally noticed Norwich say null and void, Leeds say promote 2 and relegate 5. Not surprising really with the bias.. would it be interesting to see each clubs’ fans views of the situation?

The majority opinions amongst fans seem be swinging behind null and voiding.

Only Liverpool, Leicester, Wolves and us in the Premier League seem to be firmly in the finishing camp.

Cannot just null and void it at this stage - 70/80% of the way in. It's easy to say that when you're bottom of the league, but it seems like the worst possible solution to me.

Obviously the fans of Norwich, Villa, West Ham want the season null and voiding

But the amount of mid table fans who want it voiding Just to stop Liverpool winning the league and Leeds winning promotion is childishly Embarrassing,

This is why I think the season ought to be finished whatever disruption there is to the next one. All the contract stuff will impact different sides in different ways (although teams could agree to all offer small extensions on same terms where possible and delay the transfer window) but it's as close to fair as I can see. And at least you're likely to get large scale agreement.

The possibility of nulling the season would at least be somewhat fair but I don't see how you get consensus on it unless it's somehow completely forced.

I think in the spirit of fairness, we should be selective with our solution.

I suggest we give liverpool the championship, however we don't have a relegation, however we do have EFL promotion.....

Then we solve the european place dilemma by .... having all last seasons European qualifiers qualify instead.

Yeah, that's fair.

Unfortunately it's a solution I've read on numerous occasions, fucking daft.

If we're being fair, they ought to give Liverpool the trophy even if they don't play the rest of the season.
It’s a hard balance they are equally the best team in the league. But equally Norwich are the worst team in the league so to give Liverpool the title you have to stick to current league positions.

Honestly only way I see it finish games behind closed doors. Test all players and staff into the ground. Play the match and then move onto the next one. Not what we want to hear.

But in the championship you cannot scrap playoffs?

Ultimately it’s going to come down to money. Who’s going to sue for the most money? If we took the top half the table as is and the bottom half as void (although ridicolous) results in the lowest court fees. But then you’ll have Sky to contest with?

You cannot simply give Liverpool the title and null and void everything else. That would be one rule for one and nobody else.

Sky, who are the premier League pay masters will want the season to finish, they will be happy to have the games played behind closed doors.

If you cancel the season outright, there are going to huge consequences as Sky subscribers will be cancelling their subscriptions which then begs the question how will Sky get that money back,..... and they will want it.

And that will have financial implications for the Premier League and its clubs.

Big decisions to be made

If there are enough fit squads then play the remainder behind doors. Solves all problems football finishing places related. Broadcasters get to full-fill their end of the contracts and the clubs WILL get some income. Making it null and void will only open up a can of worms.

No matter what solution they come up with some ones going to be upset. How about finishing now and stand by the table has it stands giving clubs with games in hand a point for every game they have not played compared to others .With normal rules regarding relegation and promotion standing as normal.Just a suggestion. No matter what happens it will be hard to come up with a solution that suits everyone.

Surely you just finish the season early with positions remaining as they are now . Don 't see what the debate is about , how is that not the fairest solution by far . Games in hand played quickly behind closed doors then finish the season .

Null and Void means the possibility of each EPL Club having to give back around £20 million of TV revenue. All right for the likes of Man U and Liverpool but not for us and Bournemouth. Add to that a raft of compensation claims to follow.

Until the Football authorities accept we are facing unprecedented times finance will continue be the driver in any decision not peoples health. Todays mad cap idea from UEFA that the Champions league and Europa Cup be played in one stadium in one city behind closed doors to complete it is the latest pearl of wisdom.

The fact is the current scientific evidence suggest there is no likelihood of any football being played until at least August at the earliest. When that is accepted then they can start to consider what the sensible options are. The problem is too many people think they know better than the experts and that is clouding judgement at the moment. Doctors Wayne Rooney and Nigel Pearson being an example. For that reason it is unlikely Thursdays meeting at the EPL will provide any sensible solutions.

Why should Villa accept a single point that would relegate them as opposed to playing the game that they might get 3 points from and escape the drop?

Because most teams think they should be doing better (which for most of them is BS they're where they are on merit).
It's no hardship for PL clubs to play behind closed doors , what they lose in gate receipts is small compared to the TV money. As for the other clubs, well it's nice for United not to be in the dilemma for once.

Well you do have a point but as I said it no matter what they decide there will be winners and loses .

Surely the football authorities have a duty to not only the football clubs, but to the fans of every club in the land, to ensure that everything possible that can be done, is being done, to relegate Sheffield Wednesday?

One problem is, even if you play behind closed doors and put the games on Sky, fans are going to gather to watch them.

As others have said, if you're going to "null and void" the season you can't award Liverpool the title when they aren't mathematically certain of it. If you did, the same rules must apply to everyone.

As for teams that qualified for Europe last season being given another season in Europe, with all the income that entails, despite them not being in a qualifying position this time around, that's bollocks. It's a huge gift to teams like Arsenal and potentially Man U or Spurs. Unfortunately, most of the "big" clubs will probably support this solution.

For me it would be fairer, though not perfect, to complete all games in hand then end the season. Top 3 up from Championship, bottom 3 down from PL.

It wouldn't be for the PL to mandate, but I'm sure Man City would do the decent thing and concede it voluntarily.

So if the final placings depend on voluntary concessions, do we expect the bottom three to voluntary concede relegation?
